good discussion. like the point of rojas bringing people to games. i think its correct in saying pantelis can fill that sort of spot and bring the excitement obviosly not a kiwi tho. brown borderline on every a-league team, sure. but i think brown in form is easily on every team list. hes shown what a dominant force he can be and thats all phoenix need is a couple of these utility players to strick a bit of form. the main concern for me which wasnt touched on is that dirty away record.
cheers for the poddy.
keep it up boyz.

Rojas was well known outside football fans - not sure Pantelis or any of the guys probably other than Ifil has the potential to do that

Siggy, Dura, Greenacre, Ifill, Paston and probably more all have more of a "profile" than Marco does.
Guess the difference is that, apart from Ifill, the other players aren't known for their flair (sorry Siggy).
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Great stuff. Discussion on who would make other A league sides was very interesting.

Not sure how true that is smithy, perhaps with the more football knowledgeable you may be correct but for those others who were trying to get along to the games, people like rojas are gold.
I've been coaching some little kids over the current school holidays and was talking to them about the phoenix, without fail they all knew who marco was and were gutted he had left but very few knew who Ifill or Durante were. Being a kiwi boy i guess helps

I did note that, at the Nix v U20s game, the announcer specifically explained why Marco wasn't playing. The midget has a fan base.
