If perth beat central coast mariners tommorow then we will be
BOTTOM of the table on goal difference, if we get beat next week
and perth win or draw then they will be either 1 point or 3 points
clear, we need to seriously take something off melbourne next week
or at the rate we are going we will be lucky to finish 7th as we
could end up 8th and that won't look good to the licence people at
the end of season 1.I am with rikki when he says that
he didnt expect anything this season but how can we honestly say we
will finish in the top 4 next season when we are conceding last
minute goals at home, that has now cost us 3 points with last
minute goals at home - remember central coast, it was 1-1 till the
very last minute of injury time when they scored to make it 2-1 and
today we were winning 1-0 until injury time...ooops get a penalty
and unfortuantely they scored to make it 1-1.We need
to bounce back quick or our hopes of top 4 this season will defo be
over sooner rather than later.

have to say that Phoenix looked very 'watchable' tonight, so I
still think they are progressing - i.e. there's no longer an
expectation that WP will concede an easy goal in the first 15
minutes and WP kept their act together and did not concede a goal
straight after scoring - so it's getting better.

I'm hoping that's a big "if" and Perth stay in the cellar. I'm
confidant after tonights perfomance though that we can compete at a
far better level than we've played in some matches.

If perth beat central coast mariners tommorow IF then
we will be BOTTOM of the table on goal difference, if we get beat
next week and perth win or draw then they will be either 1 point or
3 points clear 2 more ifs, we need to seriously take
something off melbourne next week or at the rate we are going we
will be lucky to finish 7th as we could end up 8th another if or
2 ifs and that won't look good to the licence people at the end
of season 1. our licence is under no threat, we have brought
crowds to the league and (in the marketting view - opened a whole
new market to the A-League and its sponsors)
I am with rikki (Ricky) when he says that he didnt expect anything this season his expectations were more establishing a solid foundation interms of football staff, backroom staff, fans, style of football etc but how can we honestly say we will finish in the top 4 next season when we are conceding last minute goals at home there will be further development and changes before next season, that has now cost us 3 points with last minute goals at home - remember central coast yes, it was 1-1 till the very last minute of injury time when they scored to make it 2-1 and today we were winning 1-0 until injury time...ooops get a penalty and unfortuantely they scored to make it 1-1. agreed, some questions can be asked and lessons learnt - if Johnno and Aloisi were both injured then that, alongside Brown's absence, has to be factored in - given that Juninho was influential in centre-mid in te second half
We need to bounce back quick or our hopes of top 4 this season will defo be over sooner rather than later several lines ago you accepted Ricky's view that this season isn't about top 4.
For mine, there's no need to panic based on that performance, especially given the key player absences.

Settle down, big ask for the bottom team to beat 1st place isn't
it? Even if the glory are on a bit of a roll.....so are the
mariners. We'll take Melbourne next week and take 6th place!

the Phoenix coach's name is RICKI Herbert, not Rikki, or Ricky, or
