I reckon there is definitely significance to how many goals you've scored and have conceded. Our defense has been pretty damn decent this season and having conceded the 5th least goals is fantastic news and hopefully we can keep it up. At the start of the season we had an awful run of games but we lost matches with tight margins like 1–0 to Sydney (not many teams can claim that). Our defense kept us in that match and several other matches.
At the same time our attack apart from Krishna struggled, especially at the start of the season, although everything did go well this weekend. Had they scored one more goal we would've rescued a draw in several situations, so both goals for and goals against are important statistics. 9 goals scored in 9 matches isn't great (and 5 goals in 7 matches against teams that aren't the Mariners).
I read in one of the other threads that there's a rumour Marco Rossi could be leaving at the end of this season. Hopefully not because he's a crucial part in our goals conceded (keeping us in and winning us so many matches) being so low.
