Well, they suck pretty hard at the moment, so that shouldn't be too much of a stretch.

A sixth dimension???
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Sydney suck hard at the moment?? If I remember correctly, didn't they beat Central Coast Mariners 3-2 last week? And if my memory serves me correctly, they actually played very good.

Happy birthday Lonegunmen!

We'll need to put on our best performance at the back if we expect to beat the Roar.

They played well in the first half. Were back to sh*te in the 2nd - the 'new coach' thing had disappeared by then.

And signifies how huge last night's (this morning's really) result was.

Also what a tight table!  Only 6 points spanning positions 1 to 7, ie all but one team in the bunch.  What do we think the play-off cut off wil be?  30 points?

Now let's see, 19 points from 10 games, say 6 -1-3 that would mean wins against ... (drifts off into play-off scenario dreamland)

I know, I know, its serious!

Entering the crucial part of the season now, 4 of our next 5 games are at home, it's an excellent opportunity to push for the playoff spots...

Sydney came through with a win over the Jets, so we're 3 points behind the next team, Victory - who haven't played yet this round - although they are up against Central Coast. Hopefully they don't get a win so we stay in touch...

Have just read all the comments re the table.
Makes me wonder if anyone knows anything about the game.
We have not played well for weeks. 1-0 against Perth was not a true reflection of the game.Once again -- our back four is the worst in the league. Is there any part of that people cannot understand.Queensland and Sydney will cream us.

Did you say "us"? Gee, you're right there behind the team, aren't you.

Our defense may still be loose, but regardless of whether good defense or poor shots caused our clean sheet last night it is certainly a confidence boost for all involved to get through a game without conceding.  Hopefully the defense can continue to improve and more clean sheets will come, like last night we may need a bit of luck for that to eventuate in the next few games, but it was nice to see our boys not making any stupid mistakes back there which have let in soft goals for us in the last few matches.

Clean sheets will grow confidence in our defensive line, and with confidence comes better performance and sometimes just one clean sheet can pick the boys up and get some belief in themselves.  Our defense hasn't been great sure, but it has been stupid mistakes that have let many of our goals in.  With Mossy in form if our defense don't make mistakes we're not going to concede nearly as many goals, and it puts far less pressure on our forwards.

A clean sheet next week would be a perfect turnaround for us, however a big thing for us will be getting through the first half without conceding again.  Even Perth were fired up from the first whistle and the first 20 mins we had our backs to the wall like usual.  We need to take the game to them instead of the other way around.

Agreed Nickel. The boys will take great heart from that win, even though, yes, we were lucky. Defensively we are weak - one clean sheet is not going to change that unfortunately - but it's amazing how confidence boasting an away win against a desperate team is.

I don't say we've turned a corner but Qld would be unwise to take the Phoenix lightly otherwise they may get a shock.

Dont get why people get so defensive about our team, seems as if you cant even state your opinion on some things without your loyalty being questioned.I am talking opinions and not those w**kers who choose to abuse Phoenix players to me they are not fans of our club.
Yes we did win and it was bloody ugly for a while, and the defence was bloody lucky it was Perth and not  a team that could really punish them.

Yes i will be watching next week and yes i will back for the next home game no matter what the result is next week.Does that mean i should be confident in the performance of our defence no bloody way,no matter how good a spin  you try to put on  the clean sheet  they look shaky and most of the other teams can and will punish some of the school boy errors that continue to be made every week.

GET YOUR SHIRTS OFF FOR THE BOYS

Definately rather see an ugly 1 - 0 away win than a pretty 2 - 1 home loss like the one against the Marinators!!!

While goal difference is important, at this stage of the season 3 points mean much much more to us than 3 more goals than the opposition in a game!!!

That loss to the Mariners could really hurt, not because we lost the point for the draw (all 3 for blowing our chances), but the Mariners got 2 more points because of the win, when they at best should've only drawn.

Interesting how TV news last night said Phoenix 'still second last and ahead of only Perth'.
A more positive approach would be to say Phoenix now just six points from the top of the table. But I'm not holding my breath.

yeh, UBlue it wouldn't kill them to spin it the other way but i think there's a certain lazyness and anti-football bias amongst (some) sports journos

apprecaite your optomism ScotBhoy, but i really think top four is a wee way off this season, anything above bottom 2 will do for me this season, 5th would be satisfying, top four = ecxtasy

let's see how we go v Qslnd

Those youngsters on the wings for QLD will tear us apart like they did last time. Our defence aint up to it.

Brosque, Bridges and Juninho against the 3 muskateers? It aint something Im exactly relishing!

Perth caused us enough problems as it was, and we were lucky to escape with a win. If Perth could actually finish they'd have put 4-5 past us easy.
