Thats a no wyners. we are 2 points behind them. so we need a win for us and a loss for them next week or else they will advance and we get nothing.
If they draw we will be even with them and they will go through on goal difference.

i'm just wondering

what happens if they draw and we go equal with them on goal difference? ( i know its pretty much impossible but what would happen?)

I would imagine it comes down to Red Cards, maybe the overall results of the three games played between the teams in one season. Something like that

From the A-League Rules:

If two (2) or more teams are level on points accumulated, the following criteria shall be

applied, in order, until one (1) of the teams can be determined as the higher ranked:

a) highest goal difference;

b) highest number of goals scored;

c) highest number of points accumulated in matches between the teams concerned;

d) highest goal difference in matches between the teams concerned;

e) lowest number of red cards accumulated;

f) lowest number of yellow cards accumulated;

g) toss of a coin.

Yeah in the event the coin lands on its side.

I've often considered that.  What would they do?

Another question I have is if one was to drill all the way through the earth, coming out the other side.  If they dropped a rock down the hole would it keep falling until it got just past the very centre of the earths core and then the gravity from the other side of the earth would send it careering back towards the earths core again (so on until it finally stops) - or what would happen?

I'm just speaking hypotheticallly here, but if the Phoenix beat Melbourne next week (and Adelaide beat CCM), it's likely Melbourne will be who the Phoenix play in the 3 v 4 playoff, because Queensland should beat Perth which would take them past Melbourne.

That'd be a better draw than playing one of the two teams (Adelaide or Q'land) the Phoenix have never beaten...
works for me, easy accomodation in Melbs.
Also I'm f**king pissed off that Ogenovski got carded yesterday (fifth of the season) for his spear tackle on Chips, not sure if Adelaide will be nearly as solid with him out of their backline against CCM

Interestingly enough, should we win here, Adelaide beat CCM and Roar beat Perth... we'd then be playing Melbourne again in our semi-final.
