in my opinion...

Moss (he's done better than I thought he would so far)
Christie, Dodd, ***, Lochead
Daniel Felipe Johnson Aloisi
Smeltz, Covs

*** I bet now Ricki would like to have Tambo in his squad. F*cked if I know who'll play there.

I'd have Brown and Felipe in there, maybe O'Dor in for Cleberson (he is good in his natural position imo, he wasn't there v CCM)  and George in for Coveny.

Is Paston available after his head knock??

I'd have him back in

Why ?
Moss seems to be doing alright  best to leave him there until he stuffs up ,i don't reckon the goals at the weekend were his fault .  We all know  the problems lie with the right back position ,we might as well stick a sign in the grass saying free goals this way !!

Hmm yeah I think I agree with this, with George to come off the bench to (hopefully) add some spark if we need it.

I have asked this before, and I will ask again - why are you selecting George when you have never seen him play?

sh*t that's an attacking side....especially considering we've conceded 5 in two games

Obviously he hasn't - George is a striker.

And that formation is defensively flawed.

Cleberson has been a touch to erratic, dodd and old are naturally centre backs and it would be interesting to have an attacking minded player at right back in Christie.... Covs hasn't been potent enough to maintain spot.

I think Cleberson would be better if RB wasn't such a problem for us. Thats why I would stick Old in at RB. Plus they would both be good in the air at set pieces.

Agree with this lineup.

Christie and Lochhead would get forward but Brown and Aloisi would sit quite deep in midfield helping out the back line. Filipe and Daniel will naturally roam.

If Brown is not fit would like to see Johnson in there or at least given some gametime.

I think that some of the problems down the right have come from the lack of a midfielder helping back on that side...... ferrante has tended to drift in and leave that side with little balance.

I agree with this line-up, although I'd put Cleberson in for Dodd.

I think Paston, would have the experience and maturity to do a better job of organizing the back four.

To be honest Moss looked like he had nothing left emotionally after the third went in (perhaps not surprising, but given that they didn't look to be his fault but i'd rather see the keeper angry than miserable in that situation).

So for me it's not a technical thing, more to do with mental strength (but the downside of putting Paston back in would be that it'd knock Moss's confidence).

If someone knows Mossy better than i do and I'm off beam then i'm happy to listen up.

Sad guys!! I dont see why everyone would take out cleberson! He's played ONE BAD GAME and had to carry O'Dor (although i do rate O'Dor as a good player, just not last week). He was one of the standouts in the Pre-Season Cup and bar last week has been the most consistant. So i would start with:

------------------------------------------------------Moss------------------------------------------------------------

Christie-----------------------------Dodd---------------------Cleberson---------------------------Lochhead

--------------------------------------------------Aloisi------------------------------------------------------------

Ferrante----------------------------------------Brown----------------------------------------------------Daniel

-----------------------------------Felipe---------------------Smeltz----------------------------------------------

Subs: Paston, O'Dor, Johnson/Lia, George (needs to play)
Just a few points i thought i'd put through guys
- I know we lost 3 - 0 last week but the performance wasnt that bad.
- O'Dor was killing us but he is a terrificly talented CENTRE BACK
- Tim Brown is an awesome player. Was a huge part in Newcastles turn around last season and has always given 200% for the all whites. I'm tipping a big win this weekend. By at least 2! Hey i was right about Sydney!
- Felipe is FAR too good just to be used as an impact player. It should be the best 11 starting and he definetely is in the top 11, and will provide us with flair on attack.

the Dom's view from training yesterday is

Christie at RB, O'dor and  Dodd cbs

They quote Ricky as hinting at a change of shape and the possibility of both Felipe and Daniel in the side

Why not???

Well if hes fit to play 90, is good enough to play 90 and has been scouted and reviewed by trusting people of the community then he qualifies for a starting position in my view.

I picked such an attacking side cuase i think its vital for us to score first in this match and set up the tempo. I undertand we are already defencivly problemed, but maybe after we can slot 2 past the jets old rick could make a defensive sub.

Cleberson, Covs, George and Ferrante were with the stiffs.

O'dor centre back, Christie right back and Brownie and Johnson in the middle.  I think Felipe will play off Smeltz, Daniel to retain his place... Moss was training with the back 4

Johnson is fcuking massive!!  A genuine rock!  He was with the first teamers

They were on the other side of the ground so I couldn't get a proper view but pretty sure he wasn't with the first teamers...

Feverish was too busy hobnobbing and Frankie Mac spent all his time figuring out whether it is the MLS or the MSL before his interview with Lochead (he got it wrong btw)

I'm sure Brownie will start in CM, Christie is more likely to make way...

Most of the work was with the back 4 so couldn't get a good look at an 11.

Sam Jaspers was also down there training with them for some reason...http://www.waitakereunited.co.nz/football/06profile/jasper.html

cant remember which group Brownlie was with - he might be in I guess though. Depends how far forward Felipe is in the formation

I would be nervous about changing the formation too much. This is a very important game and we need a win. I would still play 442 with Daniel told to roam. Bring Felipe in for Coveny (which will be a good disincentive to play long balls) and bring Old back. Ferrante could stay or go, if he stays he shouldn't shoot so much. Cleberson should stay and keep working on the combination.
