Hey everyone.

I have just retrieved my season pass from my good friends at Red Badge.  c**ts.

Anyway, it reminded me that when I got kicked out last week, I had my friends collect my grey jacket from my seat.

They went ahead and collected all grey items of clothing from around the ground.

Most have been reunited with their owners, but one is still outstanding.  It doesn't fit me, so I'm prepared to return it.

It is a grey Adidas zip up hoodie.  You will have to further describe it, and tell me its size, in order to get it back.

If it's not claimed by Saturday then it will become part of the prize pool for the Capital Football Federation teams' quiz night and will be given away on Monday night to some deserving (or not) teenager.

PM me.

Smithy.

What'd you get kicked out for?

I got kicked out for asking why someone was getting kicked out.

Seriously.

Excuse my scepticism, but there will be more to it than that....I saw a guy being removed from the stadium on Friday night for something similar but a few points......1/ he was totally s%tfaced and being obnoxious...2/ he was being very rude to the Red badge guy and wouldn't listen to what he was being told and 3/ he then got very abusive....gee no wonder he got thrown out.......

I may be a newbie here and have only been to 5 Phoenix games (being a recent converted fan) but it seems to me that a lot of the people who I have seen being spoken to, removed etc have brought it on themselves by being idiots...throwing stuff, spraying beer around, being drunk and obnoxious.

Any security company has an obligation under the liquor licence for the venue to remove anyone who appears to be intoxicated...from what i have seen, the Red Badge guys are actually quite leniant.

Just my observations and my 2c worth.........

Ooo you're a sharp one Buzz.  You're right too.  I used a bit of dirty language.

I don't think Red Badge are lenient.  I think they are morons.  I think they unnecessarily inflame situations when they throw people out for doing sweet f**k all.  I think they abuse the little bit of power they are given and I think they look for any opportunity to do so.

The friend of mine they were throwing out the other night was boozed, and had been causing a bit of hassle, but he was also 18 and about 60 kilos and didn't require four Neanderthal halfwits manhandling him out of the ground in order to be quieted down.

All he really needed was a talking to and to be sent back to another part of the ground with threats of a trespass notice if he did it again.  But that would have required the intervention of someone with a double digit IQ.  And those sorts of people don't work for Red Badge.

Actually they don't do that bad a job. A lot of them are giving their meager fee to a fund raising call for some special ocassion and I am not talking about a piss up. I was talking to a couple of them and I know they are not your average club bouncers.

It might pay  to get in the habit of following the simple rules and you wont get spoken to or thrown out. I still fail to see the point in being at a game completely drunk. All you do while having your good time is annoy the sh*t out of those around you that are not drunk.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Agree LG also think its being a little harsh to state things as if all the red badge people are the same.Admit some of them seem to go over the top with their power and just dont want to listen, but there are others of them who are more than reasonable. Its much the same as  when people label all of YF in with the dicks who throw beer and the odd bottle,we all get pretty defensive when that happens.

Quoted for truth

I wandered down to the game last Friday with a bit of a buzz (that Sassy Red is a f**king good drop) but unlike most (i'd argue all but i can't say for certain after one game) of the lot that get thrown out - and like most of the Fever - i was there to enjoy the football and the atmosphere.

One of the security guys on the field was chatting with the fans and involved in a bit of banter while keeping an eye on the goings-on further up the stand. Overall i was pretty happy with the security.

It's an attitude problem, and just quietly i don't think it's the security company.

Well said LG....why is it that some people expect different treatment because they are football supporters.....he was causing trouble but he should have been sent to another part of the ground??  causing trouble will lead to you being removed from the venue......

As to the comment that the Red Badge guys are all single digit IQ people.....comments like that remove any credibility that the poster may have in the same way that suggesting that all football fans are hooligans...

Yes I work for Red Badge (BTW I am University qualified and my IQ is actually triple digits)  and yes I was there on Friday night and yes I saw this incident.....have you ever been to a party where you are sober and you watch the minority of drunk people making dicks of themselves????  welcome to my world....most people who get drunk are good fun but there are always some others.............

As I have said before on threads, the vast majority of people who attend the Phoenix games are great and I enjoy meeting and talking to them before, during and after the game.

I know its a game to try and bring alcohol into the stadium and then we play the game to try and find it and the same when leaving but please remember one thing....the Wgtn City Council has a liquor ban outside the stadium so if you take alcohol out and are caught by police you can get arrested....please either drink it or dump it before you get to the gates and then you don't have to be asked to do so and then you don't have to get abusive when I ask you.

Despite the vitriol from some quarters, I have yet to meet a Red Badge staff member who is there for the "power". We all enjoy the atmosphere as much as the next person but also try to ensure that everyone, not just certain groups, also enjoy th event and then return for the next event.

See you all Tonight at the Ring of Fire (love that name btw  so much better than the other name)
