If you are going to put a poll up no need at all  bag any of the players in it.No matter how you feel.Yes i am not happy  but really dont think thats needed.

Smeltz was the only choice. He really has a nose for the goal. Also I like the way he holds up the ball.

Actually think all this love for Smeltz is a bit of a laugh given the bagging he copped a while back.No i was not one those as have felt he has played well in trying circumstances all year.
On a similar line if i had the time would love to have a look  back at some of the old threads and see if some of those who were calling for Moss's head and wanted Paston in his place are now calling for Pastons head.Think the one constant in all of our games has been the crap defence,maybe time to start looking and asking why there has been little or no improvement.

oh come on. Let's stop criticizing the only player who's actually playing up to the expectations!!! If not more!

he's got 5 goals so far. He cannot be criticized. And by the way I was the one at the Lounge who shouted: "how can you bitch about a player like this?" when he scored.

It's just disappointing to see how many people are taking out their frustration on the few good players who are actually trying to achieve something.
 
Have you seen Coveny today when he checked in? I could (and I mean it) have done better on that pitch. At least I can pass the ball and have a decent shot.

There is nothing else to say. And please I don't want to hear any KNIGHTS crap this week. We know we have a team made up of valuable players - so let's stick by them and support them. They need all the help they can get - especially now.

Sure Smeltz plays some ugly football and doesn't have the brazillian flair, but when it comes down to it he puts the ball in the back of the net. I don't think Coveny was that bad. He didn't get any support and in the last ten minutes of the game the phoenix just stopped playing.
 
Our defense needs to sort its self out. I think they need to mark a lot tighter then they are. they are giving the oposition players to much time on the ball either on the outside of the box or in the air inside the box. We are getting punnished for it.

guilty as charged - I hadn't seen Smeltz score from distance and thought it worth trying Paston in goal.
So whaddo I know?

I did think the team played well in the first forty minutes - just sort of went off the boil in the second ....

Smeltz had a great game. I'm so impressed with the way he holds and protects the ball.
 
It was sad to see the team lose heart after the 3rd goal; our tactical play went all to hell and certain players who featured in the first half, like Daniel, all but disappeared. Not blaming him per se but I felt that even two goals down we had a chance if we'd stayed focused. We didn't.

I'm gonna vote Paston. Why? Because he had a stink game except for that save and after reading the hammering on here that he's copping, I want to say to him, not to let his head drop and strive to play better in his next game. Goalkeeping is a real confidence position. Just remember there were 10 defenders in front of him please.

What a great start, SMELTZY is CLASS!!! He said he came to play and he did. He is the best signing by far, he's hungry and has done it tough. Good luck to him.
This comp is tough but everyone needs to put in. Can I ask...........WHY was MOSS on the bench!!!!??? Was at the game, linesman was so far behind (was a joke really) especially Pantalas goal....... but still no excuses. C'mon Nix, PLEASE don't lose heart all you fans, you lot are the most vocal we hear on TV. Keep on believing...........cos if you believe............luck will come your way. We wore our scarves and cheered and were nearly drowned out..........but we walked out WITH our gear on. Thats footy! Thats life...............but there is always next week!!! Shane on 5 goals, 2nd highest scorer in A League, thats says something. No need to bag any players, they know how they rated, NOW they have to have the mental abilty to turn it around, and just bring it on!!

My big concern is that in earlier games of the season we would dig deep and find a way back into the game in the final 20-30mins.
Last night they looked like they had given up pretty much by the 65th minute.

They're losing the resolve, keeness and self-belief they had earlier in the season.

Which is not good.

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!
