Rojas - Stuttgart is a smart move. He could even breaking into that starting XI
Marco Rojas - The return of the Kiwi Messi
rumour is Moli is getting traded to the EPL
Isn't Molinaro a left back/left wing back?
A little old, but mentions Stuttgart and says there are a couple of EPL teams looking at him as well.
Speculation FC
I think the German style of play would suit Marco and he would be doing well to sign with a top club there
Well, Germany certainly seems a place to be right now.
#1 league in the world at the moment, no doubt. (though Bayern buying every good player doesn't help competition)
still no official word.......wierdly starting to doubt everything we thought we knew.......perhaps he is retiring to start his coaching career.
why is his daddy his manager? i mean isn't there someone else more suited to the job
If the above is true and he does sign for Stuttgart that would be excellent news!! as for his dad being his manager why not have him? cheap and has the best intentions for Marco. Seems to have done alright with him so far....
good move for him, hopefully he learns a lot and brings it to the AW's
Stuttgart seems definite:

Germany calls... Rojas takes the next step in his career (Getty Images)
Pocket-maestro Marco Rojas will jet to Germany on Thursday to complete his mooted move to Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart as the next phase of his career unfolds.
A deal first revealed by The World Game last week is all but done with only the formality of a medical to undergo now as personal terms between the club and New Zealand international have already been agreed.
The A-League’s Johnny Warren medallist, and also Young Player of the Year, confirmed his departure from Melbourne Victory after landing both gongs last week and will join the ex-Victory duo of Mitch Langerak (Borussia Dortmund) and Robbie Kruse (Fortuna Dusseldorf) in what is arguably now the strongest league in world football.
Rojas has been coy over his next destination with a clubs in England also interested but reports in Germany have now surfaced pointing to Stuttgart as the new home of the 21-year-old striker who netted 15 A-league goals and conjured nine assists in a memorable campaign.
Father and manager Rodi Rojas was reluctant to confirm that five-time German champion Stuttgart was the ultimate destination when he and his son boarded the plane for Europe.
But he did speak glowingly of the strength of German football as Bayern Munich marches towards the UEFA Champions League final after crushing Barcelona in its semi-final first leg and Borussia Dortmund prepares to face Real Madrid in the other semi on Thursday morning (AEST).
"It's a terrific league and any player would only benefit from going there and lifting the level of his game," he said. "Playing there would hopefully bring out the best in Marco as it would any young footballer with ambitions to reach the top.
"You also look across Europe and a lot if the leagues are in financial trouble and that can play on the minds of players, but that is not the case in Germany.
"We are very close to securing something for Marco and there a just a few little things to do before we can confirm anything officially."
Stuttgart is coached by former German international Bruno Labbadia and won its last Bundesliga title in 2006-2007. It is currently 10th on the ladder with 39 points from 30 games.

Fredi Bobic is recruiting for VfB Stuttgart. StN, 23.04.2013 10:40 clock
Stuttgart - This week Fredi Bobic is back on the road to draw reinforcements ashore. The transfer free exchange of Marco Rojas (21), the New Zealand striker with Chilean roots of the Australian club Melbourne Victory is as good as perfect. Defender Daniel Schwaab (Bayer Leverkusen) and striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga (Hertha BSC) are other contenders.

Stuttgarter Zeitung newspaper 22/04/13
.... Fredi Bobic, who is busy preparing for next season. In Fürth, the striker Sercan Sararer (23) is brought - and after TDR information, VfB is agreed with another recruit. The attacking midfielder Marco Rojas (21) on a free transfer from Melbourne Victory. The New Zealander with Chilean roots was courted by other clubs (Bremen, Hannover, Gladbach). In addition, the disposal of Cristian Molinaro (29) emerging. The defender prefers to England. It should replace Daniel Schwaab (24) from Leverkusen.
Awesome!
You have to watch this. Stuttgart is the home of Mercedes Benz, so Marco will be playing at the 60,000 capacity Mercedes Benz Arena.
In this Stuttgart promo video of the stadium, I wasn't sure why they were showing blokes standing at the urinals taking a piss..but then it all became crystal clear - those Germans think of everything! I'll leave it to you to enjoy...Marco's new home
Think it's going to be tough for Marco - will be interesting to see how he goes; I think Kruse is succeeding there in part because he's an arrogant bastard. Don't know if Marco has that attitude.

[/quoIf you are going to make it anywhere, being arrogant won't help one bit. Desire will.
Nelsen was not arrogant.
Neither is Winston Reid.
Confusing arrogance with confidence and belief in ones own ability. I think if anything, he is obviously backing himself.
Read this on the Stuttgart forums:
Der VfB dementiert den heutigen Medizischeck von Marco Rojas beim VfB.
Fredi Bobic ist immer noch in Verhandlungen mit Wynton Rufer, seinem Berater.
Roughly: VfB (stuttgart) denied todays medical check for Marco with VfB. Fredi Bobic is still in negotiations with wynton rufer, his advisor.
He failed his medical? That is not good news. Players that fail medicals watch their stocks plummet real quick regardless of the reason
This is huge..I mean really really big. The Bundislige is argueably 1st or 2nd best league in Europe. Certainly first for crowd numbers. With the performances of Bayern and Dortmund you could possibly make a case for first in quality.
For a little kiwi kid from Hamilton this is an amazing step. He is now in the bigtime....to give you an idea Rojas's clips on Youtube have gone ballistic. One has 45,000 hits and another 36,000
OK if it is Stuttgart then we would not expect to see him in the first team. He will go into the Stuttgart reserve team playing Div3 or be loaned out. But the Bundislige has a great record of player development. They tend to buy cheap and develop rather than go for megastar imports. Rojas will be getting the best training that money can buy.
Its all up to him now. He has the talent. If he has the mental strength he can make it. Should be an interesting watch

One thing that is interesting is that in the stuff article where Wynton put his hand up to coach the Phoenix he also mentioned that he was involved in this deal, but that he had pitched for Rojas to be loaned back to Melbourne for next season. I wonder whether that is still part of the negotiation?

Dear Nix,
I want to manage your team next year, I have limited coaching experience, not that you'd know this from how much I usually have to say. However, I was a class player in my day and I have a lot of friends who i can tap on the shoulder and use to promote the club and source players from... and I will bring Marco with me for a year.
Not a terrible pitch.
Let's be fair to Wynton, his contacts seem to be significantly better than Ricki's Worldwide Network of Contacts and Agents (TM)
I've heard Rufer was putting his nose in where it didn't belong. Again. Had very little to do with the deal.
I've heard Rufer was putting his nose in where it didn't belong. Again. Had very little to do with the deal.
Surely Roddy (spelling?) would sort Wynton out and remind him who Marco's agent is?
Rodi.
THink that was the case.
Would have loved to have been a fly on the wall with that conversation
Wynton: Do you know who I am? Do you know what I have done? I had your kid in my academy. I have contacts in Germany. I am respected everywhere.
Rodi: I'm his Dad and his agent. Check mate.
With all respect to Rufer, I don't think Bobic and Labadia need any advise from him. They will have their own plans, good for Marco. I like to see him playing him for Stuttgart.
Stuttgart lost 3-0 to lowly Augsburg. Federico Macheda, 21, on loan from Man U, came on as a 2nd half sub.
Meanwhile, brushing up on my German, Rojas would be considered : Außenstürmer - winger/wide attacking midfielder
Handy page on the Bundesliga site tells me :
die Schwaben - hailing from Swabia in the south west of Germany, VfB Stuttgart tend to be called the Swabians
Stuttgart was voted a many times "The most boring City" in the past. It will feel for him feel like Hamilton.
Its incredible the amount of chatter on social media etc about 'oh i dont know if he's ready' when you here nothing about a number of Australians linked to big clubs like Sainsbury or Halloran.
Stuttgart was voted a many times "The most boring City" in the past. It will feel for him feel like Hamilton.
Article on Marco and Wynton from German media - apparently Marco's NZ clubs are in for some big money in development compensation:
VfB Stuttgart: ATTACKING TALENT MARCO ROJAS - TOO DELICATE FOR VfB?
"...the club is very keen on this free jewel - just a training compensation in the amount of 180,000 dollars (140,000 euros) would VfB transfer to New Zealand...
...Rufer feels responsible for him as fatherly friend and protector... For when he talked recently with Fredi Bobic on the phone, he advised the VfB manager to something he repeated in an interview with the Stuttgarter Nachrichten: "Marco is not yet ripe for the Bundesliga. The hardness there is too much for him. It would be better if he stayed another year in Melbourne. "The leagues in Switzerland, the Netherlands or Belgium would also be eligible for Rojas", says the ex-pro who was elected to the turn of the millennium Oceania Player of the Century. Bobic he advised to buy Rojas and borrow immediately for a season at Melbourne Victory. Rojas was "small and dribbling as Marko Marin", but "the mentality here is not really grown up," Rufer says about the striker...
Bobic doesn't agree. He wants Rojas immediately - and is on fire. "
