I was looking for the Arena food menu, but all I could find was the cost to building the stadium: NZ$210

I'll take 10!

Also this is pretty sexy:

At $210m for it really shows what bollocks the building of the Petone Arena at $40m actually was.

More like: Can you bend the stand a bit guys so it doesn't encroach on the public footpath.

Actually, NZ$210 million sounds really excessive for a small stadium.

Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin cost NZ$224 million but it has a roof and seats 30,000.

The model for a Wellington stadium (and Gareth Morgan confirmed to me that he had studied this one) is more like the "New York Stadium," Rotherham, a state-of-the-art 12,000 seat stadium which opened in 2012 and is the home of Rotherham United  - it cost about 25 million pounds. Doubles as the major conference centre in the area hosting 700.

All this talk about artificial surfaces reminds of a story about an American Gridiron football player.....when asked if he preferred, grass or Astro turf he replied....." Dunno, I ain't never smoked no Astro turf"

Cuckoo clocks are from the Black Forest. Swiss watches can get quit expensive, the sky s the limit.

And Construction in Wellington isn't?

Yes the one in Thun may be over the top, but to think we could build something from anything other than scaffolding and shade cloth and a few old Lion Brown Crates for 1/5th of the cost?

Some fans are happy with his performance. Made a good impression in the first test match. Got some cheering form the fans for a solo run. They think Kiwi-Messi is quicker than Suomi-Ronaldo, but a bit toothless in front of the goal.

Highlights here from Fürth TV of the game: Youtube

Marco in number 10, don't see much of him but has a couple of nice turns and a shot on goal from 2:10...

Any German speakers have a chance to check the Fürth forums and see if they had anything to say about Marco. You know stuff like "Gotten himmell, ve should never of let him go" or " Good riddance to bad rubbish".

Responsible for the only Thun highlight of the match by the looks of it. Shows good strength and quick feet however the shot looked to be the wrong option with an unmarked teamate at the top of the 18 yard box.

Didn't play in their 0-1 loss to Hertha BSC, Marco was listed as sick. Dodgy kebab perhaps?

1:0 test match win for Thun.

Rojas got an assist! Marco's shot on goal, keeper could not handle it, Sedik put in the back of the net. He played 67. minutes.

Good signs but Rojas has done well in these meaningless matches for Stuttgart.

Google translate makes for entertaining reading:

"Marco Rojas came in the penalty area from the left at the end. The shot of the Geneva goalkeeper could still defend, but the rebound went straight into the feet of Berat Sadik, who coolly put the ball via a Geneva defender in the mesh."

Right in the mesh...

Just scored. Pretty much stole the goal. There was a defender making a play to knock it off the line so better safe than sorry. 1-0 thun. He also had a magic run earlier beating at least 4 players.
