There's plenty of other leagues in Europe not as good as the eridivse that he could thrive in. I think 2nd division of spain or france could be a good one.

Even Central or South America could suit really well. He was linked to Tigres before going to Heerenveen a year ago. Last Kiwi over that direction was Ernesto Lopez for Independiente I think?

Surely small tricky players are a dime a dozen in places like South America?

Shall we bring out the average height of each country again to find the best league for him?

Still think Japan or even China should be his go. To good for the a league but not good/big enough for the tough leagues of europe

Would rather he head over to the MLS or any other top Asian/American league than back to the A-league. Not sure if he could crack it in a top South American league but atleast he speaks Spanish so communication shouldn't be much of an issue, I could see him adjusting to the Colombian Premera A but competition is hot for most South American teams especially the Argentine and Brazil.

I wonder if we have had any kiwi players play in the Copa Libertadores before, that competition is ruthless compared to UEFA Champions League.

There's many players who have not succeeded at a club, then have taken off with another club in the same league. Not saying that will happen, but just because he's not having success right now doesn't mean he has to abandon the continent.

100%, For example, Brazil has produced many tricky players on the smaller side that have turned into top players or talents. In recent times I can think of Malcolm and Gabriel Jesus who are now kicking it on in La Liga and the Prem. Top division of Brazil could be a good one. What bout the MLS?

Stays on the bench during a 1-1 draw verus VVV Venlo.

Stays on the bench as Heerenveen lose a goal fest 3-5 to Heracles.

Heerenveen score a late equaliser against Excelsior, ends 3-3. More splinters for Marco, doesn’t feature. Seems well out of favour despite having a key hand in the relatively successful end to last season.

Fuck this stupid game

Wonder if Rudan's had a word with him about a loan?

Equalising goal scored by a youngster on debut in Marco’s position, doesn’t bode well. His name’s Jizz Hornkamp so there’s no way Heerenveen can’t play him

he’ll be at the Colorado Rapids in no time

This guy needs to pack his bags for another team and get some minutes, the European dream is fading on him.

For him to come back to the A-League, it will be Victory or nothing

Hopefully he spends his entire career out of any English speaking leagues, ignorance is bliss

Your average young Dutch person, speaks better English than a lot of Kiwis.

Many universities in the Netherlands lecture their courses in English, rather than Dutch.

I think he will be aware by now, that his name has an unfortunate connotation.

I'm mostly talking about the ridicule he'll recieve from those leagues, particularly the EPL. Fans are ruthless

Got a start in the KNVB cup tonight, subbed off after 78 minutes. 0-0 FT and currently in extra time against Katwijk from the Tweede Divisie

Heerenveen score late at 117 mins to win 1-0. Good to see Rojas get a start, even if against a 3rd Div side in a Cup game.

Unused sub as Heerenveen draw 1-1 with Den Haag.

Man, updates on Marco are getting boring! Lots of unused subs or very limited game time and so little to get excited about!!!

Rides the pine as Heerenveen crush De Graafschap 5-0.

Seems a bit bleak for Rojas, if can’t even get any minutes in a game like that.

Hornkamp scored as a sub.

loving this Rojas vs Jizz Hornkamp narrative. I wonder if it makes Marco feel better or worse than the kid starting ahead of him has an absolutely ludicrous name

Not required off the bench as Heerenveen host Ajax, and get thumped 4-0.

Yep, his career has really taken off and improved. He now has 15 different ways of sitting on a bench.

He's not marquee standard I'm afraid.

He'd definitely be good enough as a marquee (for us and for the league) but surely he'd want to go back to MVC or SFC/MCY at a stretch. Shame cause it would be great to have it.

Let's not forget that he'd be on decent coin there and his team would probably prefer he asked to be released from his contract (no payout) rather than paying his wages for him to play down here...

Are you saying that a reserve player in the Dutch first division, who has only played semi regular 1st team football in the Swiss league, is good enough to be a marquee in the A League?

Have you seen how good this guy is in the A-League?
