Shouldn't that be Argentinian Rojas?

Says he will see out the season with the Victory. Mentions that his dad is still his agent also.

So he hasn't received any offers then..

hes just doing the exact same thing he did with us.

see out the contract to remain loyal to side, then when off contract can look at many more options and possibly go off for some trials as well

Reckon the club would prefer a transfer fee if he is going to be leaving anyway? Guess that's up to MV.

With less than 6 months in his contract, only reason for a club to pay for him is that they want him right now. I still think he needs another season under his belt, winning a couple player of the season awards would look great on the CV.

Hmmm I think he needs to find the right club and would make sense to move soon. he's not going to be a "young player" for too much longer

My source tells me he has contracted a few people around the globe to go and scout first-hand the training facilities of all the clubs interested in him.
Apparently training facilities are right up Marco's agenda.

Is this a pisstake or serious?

I find it ironic that for a kid that put a lot of value in the training facilities at Melbourne, he has not used them and added some definition to his frame. I know his game relies on being slight and quick but a bit of muscle will help him ride challenges.

Considering how much he has improved over his time at the Victory, I would have to disagree with you on your statement that he has not used the training facilites.
Also, I'm pretty sure the post you are referring to is a pisstake.

I did see that video. I didn't see any muscle bulk on him. Actually just a skinny schoolboy.

Patrick I was meaning more than the 'football' facilities. I was talking about the gym. Was unsure if he was sarcastic or serious.

Not in an NZ gym, in a Melbourne one potentially.

I just hope the next step is the right one for him, to benefit NZ football. How many times have our players transferred to a team/country and found it to be crap and it has all gone horribly wrong. "Go the little genius"

Predictably, this discussion was caused by media speculation becoming media news. But of course, nothing has actually happened that changes anything.

The media will now leap to the next gossip sensation and create more news... How about "Fan Angst in Toronto" ooops sorry different player

MELBOURNE Victory sensation Marco Rojas will not be part of any January A-League exodus, his father confirmed yesterday.

With Tom Rogic likely to sign for Scottish giant Celtic, Rojas is now the hottest property in the A-League with overseas clubs circling the New Zealand winger.

The 21-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season, when there will almost certainly be international offers to consider.

But Rodi Rojas, Marco's father and manager, said his son was really enjoying his football this season after a frustrating and fruitless debut campaign at Victory and was focused on silverware.

Missed a bunch of chances against Perth. Don't think he's ready for a move.

He went thru a phase like that just before we played them. Loads of chances but couldn't finish them off. He really needs another season to try and get his game more consistent first.

Everyone misses chances.

If you miss chances when you go overseas, it's hard to get another shot.

And everyone misses chances but multiple in one game? Not a great look. (see: Stein)

Okay so one game he doesn't score a goal. Yep, you're right, maybe they should demote him to the W-league!

Permalink Permalink

It's not just been one game though, it's been a few in a row. Even great strikers have form slumps though, it's nothing new.
