The bottom line is we would never get a player of this pedigree unless there was something nasty in his closet

It's a bit like making a choice between a hot chick at the pub and the average one.

You've been advised that the average one is a virgin and clean whilst the hot one had a std last year.

On this occasion we have gone there.

Why?

If he wanted a change, he wanted a change.

He did nothing wrong in the match fixing scandal, I wouldn't report match fixing there either, because I like having my head still attached. We don't really what the mafia can be like, but he clearly wasn't in the mood to find out. Who would be?

The club has a history of priding itself on good characters (see; Sigmund, Benjamin, etc.) and Ernie's wouldn't sign him if he wasn't a sure thing to be a good character. He's said he's gonna make an effort to learn English asap, so he seems alright.

Has anyone seen anything on TV One or TV 3 Sports over this signing? I must have missed the unveiling so to speak. All this talk about alleged events from the past are equal to the wonderful publicity about an event in Brazil right now. The robberies and crimes committed are making more headlines than the small yet bankruptingly expensive sports event.

for all the talk about his fine for match fixing, those old enough (not you Patrick) should remember that the top goalscorer and star of the 1982 world cup and Marco's namesake, Paolo Rossi, had been banned for 3 years before the 82 world cup finals for match fixing.

Match fixing in Italian football is not new, they gave up deciding promotion \ relegation on goal difference along time ago and have play- offs for teams that are equal on points because of it.

looking at his playing record he seems more like a Rory Fallon, IE extremely promising when he was young but not quite going on as he should have - In Italy a problem, but in the A-League ideal!

Patrick wouldn't know not due to age, no... Rather, a hilarious and unbelievable ineptitude to know anything about Italian football.

Spotted Marco and a couple of the nix crew just now unloading travel bags in Tory St and heading into Century City apartments. He must have just arrived in Welly. Gorgeous day for it and will have made a good first impression - unlike the horrendous last week or so. Hopefully a good omen.

Was the press conference in Welly though? All I know is that I saw them getting out of a car at Century City with big travel bags (two big ones each - Marco and another guy - along with a driver) - it sure looked like just off a plane. Could have been shifting accommodation within Welly I suppose - but it looked like plane baggage to me. Marco is tall!

None of the above. I genuinely like that you called him Codhill. Because he is a cod.

I heard that Marco Rossi once tried to tackle Chuck Norris in a pick-up game. The resulting cataclysm blew them both into alternate universes, where Marco Rossi is a karate movie star and Chuck Norris is in the Phoenix back 4.
