I think Bozza is right, Kilkenny losing the plot at his team hasn't helped them.

Fewer parrot jokes and I'm much more sober.

Piney, I need to lie down!

Think we need Devlin on in the midfield. They are all over us there.

Sure Uffie will shut up shop at some point. A Piscopo goal? I'll believe it when I see it!

Defending very well that half. Perth are definitely over complicating things and trying to pass us to death when they get into the final third. It's working well for us. I suspect they'll mix it up a little in the 2nd half.

For all their possession and balls into our penalty area, I thought they were quite disappointing (considering the firepower they possess)

In saying that. Delighted with the 2-0 lead. I hope we don't do what we did last time out against Perth and sit back and absorb pressure after going two up and then clinging on for the win. Keep going for the counter. Crowd out their influential players - Kilkenny, Fornaroli, Castro etc, win that second phase ball when it breaks down and hit them quickly. They look a discontented bunch out there, a third would surely settle it?

Easy to sit back and just defend, but I think Perth will likely score at some stage. We need to still go at them. We can only win by scoring more than them. Perth games this season have averaged 5 goals. We need one more I think.

They all hung off him. Sort of goal we've conceded on multiple occasions so nice to see the boot on the other foot for once.

Hope we don't park the bus. It's an open invitation for them to keep possession, which would be almost suicidal. If any team is going to overhaul a 2 goal lead it's Perth

Am trying to find a stream - have been trying on VIP Box but every link supposedly for Phoenix-Perth goes to a Brisbane-Canberra women's game. Anyone find a way around this?

Yesssss! Great buildup and a tap in for Waine after Velaphi can't hold the Ball shot.

Lewis off, Devlin on. He's done very good work today.

Last year we depended on Hooper. Happy to see the young guys doing the business. Maybe Hemed will flourish with the pressure off team results wise.

Sign of confidence from us as opposed to last week: no time wasting so far.

I couldn't tell if third save was off him or defender. If it was off Sail that has to be one of the best save sequences in A League history.

Good team effort today, not reliant on Da Villa as usual.

Commentators saying how Castro is always surrounded, but he just takes waaay too many touches.

It's weird to say but he's had a poor game today.

Oh that jab at Tim Paine 😂
If you're not a cricket fan then it probably went over your head.

This is a really good defensive effort. It's been wall like. And you can hear the players yahooing and egging each other on when they deny a Glory opportunity. Excellent to see.

Apart from a bit of a flap at a corner Sail has had a stupendous game today.

Woo-woo!
Faith in the boys. Clean sheet for Sail, Payne and McGing.
Goal for Waine.
Goal from Reno.
Two wins on the bounce.
Dunno how this Taylor bloke thinks he's getting in game time!

A great result from a team that really looked interested. If they play like that every week we will reel in the other teams.

I don't want to make fun of these takes which were reasonable at the time, but I think even their authors will agree they're funny in retrospect

I don't usually post too much pre-match negativity, but I do fear that Perth may scorch us without Devlin the starting lineup. A-League though, so anything could happen!
More realism than negativity. We aren't even close to turning a corner yet but I have quite high hopes we will later on in the campaign. For today I expect it will be the Castro/Bruno show.

Perth games this season are averaging like 5 goals a game. Not expecting a clean sheet, so I just hope we score more than them today.

Unfortunately, he has serious competition for that title and I dont think he's there yet. Give him a season or two and maybe
