Midfielder from the Mariners as you would be aware there has been a lot of bad press in OZ of late pertaining to Football.

I went onto the Mariners and Victory forums to seek some ideas of how to fight back.

Sorry in advance to mods if in wrong place but it is bad press on the A-League.

Anyway here is a copy of my post for how to fight the bias, hope you enjoy.

Many thanks for all the ideas about the media.

I have been through a range of what to do set web pages with long list of names to email and on reflection I don't think that is the answer.

By chance I came across a online sports page covering all sports and its interactive in that a journo writs and article and people can simply read, or read and add a comment.

The comments people add are not the short one liners like Up yours with a rubber hose they are in the main well written. So you get to read other peoples comments not to dissimilar to forums.

On the right hand side of the site are peoples comments and they keep a list of what is talked about the most etc.

Readers contribute many of the articles again not to dissimilar to a forum.

Now here is my idea this type of site is the future of media reporting. Right now it is owned by Rugger boys who go on endlessly about how great Union is and how weak soccer ( as they call it is).

WE CAN BE IN CHARGE OF OUR OWN MEDIA BY SIMPLY POSTING TO FOOTBALL STORIES AND WRITING OUR OWN FOOTBALL STORIES.

You could even place in thread that you have placed a story so go and comment.

Below is the site and am sure its not related to Football in spite of its name. Also beneath the site I have listed Mariners, Victory, Yellow Fever & SBS forum stats.

They are impressive and we can fight back by controlling the future of football online.

ON line sports site address.

It's quite hard to work out what you are trying to say in this thread..  .. Perhaps you might want to reword it in a more logical fashion?

I suspect what you mean is that football fans can and should use their numeric superiority to take control of "new media" (i.e. interactive, web based media) to promote the sport and tell the story from the perspective of the fans. To which I heartily agree.
