Was watching one of the sevens semifinals yesterday - can't remember which one. During the game the cameras swung to the toff's area and focussed on Terry S who was on the balcony. He was talking to what appeared to be a very attractive young blonde in an American costume. Perhaps an early interview for some cheerleaders next season?
Tony Johnson commented on the Phoenix and said that they had done a great job for the sport in the past season. Murray Mexted, who we all know is very one-eyed as to his sport, commented that he had been to a Phoenix game - his first ever "soccer" match. He added that he could see why it was the world's most popular game as it was so simple and everyone could understand it (probably important as far as he is concerned but more likely a sling-off at the confusion over the Rugby rules). He said that he had thoroughly enjoyed the occasion.

Cnut and I were having a pint and just about choked when we heard the same thing.
We are going to try and get hold of it on DVD and put it up on YFTV.

Did anyone see the Fever boys (& girls) on TV?
We had a group of 10 of us in the red zone.
I'd think Murray would be a Chelsea fan wouldn't he?

A potato father of two female spuds was minding his own business one day, when his eldest approached him.
"Father, I have met the potato of my dreams, and we wish to be married!"
"Oh yeah?" was the deeply suspicious reply. "Who"?
"King Edward potato. Do you give us your blessing?"
The father potato was very happy as marrying a daughter into royalty was obviously of great prestige. "Wonderful news my dear, you have my blessing"
2 weeks later, second daughter rolls up:
"I'm marrying Murray Mexted"
"Mexted!?!" spluttered father spud. "You can't do that!"
"Why ever not?" retorted the indignant daughter.
"Because he's a common tata".
If you liked that, get yourself to the pundemonium thread....! HarryHotspur2008-02-03 13:40:51

Not all rugby supporters are football bashers :p It's not like there isn't a hell of a lot of rugby bashing footballers either :D

In the sevens coverage yesterday during one of the many zoom ins on the top birds in the crowd it showed one with a skimpy singlet and bra on. One commentator said: "good to see that South Africa has some support here" to which Mex adds, "Looks like she's got some good support too"
Always hated Mex and his stupidity however that was a goodie.

Mex is class BECAUSE of his stupidity. Some of the comments he comes out with are hilarious.

My two favourite Mexisms are as follows;
A player slides across the line on his back and scores the try by planting the ball over his shoulder, Mex pipes "I bet he's not the first player to score lying on his back"
And a try to the Hurricanes Andrew Hore and Mex contributes "the Hore always scores"
GOLD.....
And great he's promoting football and the Phoenix, the more people with airtime who attend home games and enjoy the atmosphere the better....the knock on effect is awesome when they speak highly about the Nix on National TV....

I like Murray Whiplash. His new "Word" of the day and his attempted humour. He can be so very dry and droll sometimes. I find it quite funny. better than that bland mono tone voice of Grant Fox - The man who almost single handedly killed rugby in this country by kicking anything he recieved and made it very very boring to watch.
Remember when that lady started with the rugby, Murray made it very obvious he fancied her but she ended up marrying someone else.

The only time I saw Mex in person was a few years ago outside what then was The Grand...Mex stumbling around drunkenly and my then gf and I walking past him. I discretely say to her 'that's Murray Mexted' and she says, really loudly, 'who the fark is Murray Mexted'...I've adopted the same attitude ever since.
