Okay Auckland football fan(s).

First up, REZPEKT to those of you who were here last night.

There seems to be some demand for a YF Tour Bus return to Auckland.  I am happy to coordinate this on behalf of genuine Auckland football fans.

You need to post here if you're keen.

Click here to email me if you could pick up a booked rental van (need your credit card) and drive it up and back.  Hopefully a few drivers will come forward cos it's a fair trip.

Sweet.

Smithy.

Sorry, Smithy. Didn't see this before I posted mine.

Have e-mailed you.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I'd be wanting to spend the night in Wellington and come back on the Monday.

Be good if we could get some idea of whether people would stay overnight or would want to head back straight after the game.

Okay so at this stage the van is leaving Sunday and returning Monday.

There is a chance (I need to speak to the Finance department - Liz) that we will subsidise the van hire if we can fill it up.

Accommodation will be part of the deal - probably at our good friends the YHA Wellington.

I will be keen if the van has a change of heart and leaves on the Saturday. Might look at it depending on prices etc anyway (I assume this will all be published here in due time.

btw, loving your work Smithy, true commitment to getting a few more people at the game well and above the call of duty.

Would this minivan go through Taupo? I'll be there for a mates stag-do on Saturday night and could be keen to jump on board if it's passing through. I'd only want to go one way, and I have accommodation, but if there is a spot free... ?

Will send an email.

If I'm driving down I'll be going that way anyway.

Or if it's "The Fever Bus", I'm sure it'll be the same.Jag2010-02-22 22:48:03

If it's Sunday - Monday, very much interested. Would have to see a quoted price first, just returned from an expensive wee trip this weekend....

Would be keen on seeing the quotes for this, As may have a couple of mates interested as well as me

May have doesn't really cut it.

If we can fill the van then the Fever will chuck some cash in to make sure it's a good deal.  But at the moment it's same old Auckland, can't be @rsed with anything.

YHA Wellington City are going to offer you guys a great deal for Saturday night too, but only if there's a decent number.

YF are coming to the party, which they didn't have to do,  after some interest was expressed and now we're getting a few half-arsed "well I might be interested" responses.

You're either interested or you're not. I dunno how much it will cost, any more than anybody else does, but I'm sure it will be far cheaper than flying down or even taking your own car. Then there's the offer of cheap accomodation. Sounds like it has the makings of a pretty sweet deal to me.

Fire up. It's sh*t or get off the pot time, people.

Alright now, enough of these "can't be arsed with anything"' "auckloland" calls. If I were rich, did not have a job and did not go to university I would hire a plane to be at every single game. Hell, I'd just move to Wellington. Unfortunately this is not the case.

Can we not have a quote?
Because if it's reasonable then I am 100% committed (to be honest, I'm sure it will be). I realize it will be cheaper than driving or flying but those are out of the question after this weekend. Lord knows I want to be there.

Oh, great. If I'm going to have to bring a can of pepper spray and/or a flickknife to defend my honour on this trip, you can forget it.

Okay...

If the van is full (10 people) then WE WILL PAY FOR the van hire.

Fuel is up to you, but I guess about $30 a head, give or take.

To take up the deal you also have to spend the night at our friends the YHA Wellington City.  That'll set you back about $25 give or take.

So the grand total for a return trip to Wellington might be a massive $55.

Now that's a deal that makes a Scotsman smile.

I'll ask around tonight, Smithy. I suspect I know a few people who'll bite your arm off for a deal like that.

Bluemagic and Ted have already sent me loads of txts saying they're disgusted at this offer because it will have an adverse effect on grass roots van hire companies in Dunedin, Waikato, Christchurch, Napier, Wellington and Waitakere..

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.
