For me, its Kwasnik. Made some good runs down the wings and looked a real threat. Kwasnik out wide next game I think.
Edit: No more sh*t thanks...

Kwasnik has had a crack up front and did ....... f**k all.
Leave him out on the wing where he has at least delivered.

Fair point, why fix it if it ain't broke or whatever that saying is. However, I can't see Coveny ever scoring a goal and was actually a tad dissapointed with him. Maybe have Hearfield up front or ... Costa!

Tim Brown, controlled the midfield which is what we needed above all else and topped it off with that good goal.

Kwasnik Simon? Albeit his best performance this year but definitely didnt warrant motm.
Brown comfy motm.Won piles of ball ( something weve been serious ly lacking ), passed well, got hurt and played on. And besides even if you ignore that, scoring the winner to pick up our first treble of the season easily earns motm.

Um, sorry? Made some good runs down the wings, so let's put him up front???
Whatever.....

Got to agree with you there though. Coveny is a fifteen minute cameo man, nowt more at this stage of his career. Not Hearfield though, he's another sub to come on and frighten teams later in the second half. Why not give Costa a shot at it?
And on another tack, isn't it interesting what can happen when players are played in their natural positions?

Tim Brown, no question, he was exactly what the nix have been missing so far this season in the midfield. Brilliant.

I've voted for Sigmund, with Brown just behind him.

Brown for me. Sigmund and Dodd were excellent at the back but Brown bossed the midfield and was the best player on the park today for me.
Also big ups to Ricki for making the big calls.

I did eat my words in a second post. I just don't like the look of Coveny and there's no one else to put up front. Apart from Hearfield and Kwasnik. Unless we play one striker.
OK, clearly Kwasnik up front is silly after he played well on the wing. I eat everything I said in that first post. Apart from about him being MOM.

Dodd for me he was a rock at the back, never to be seen in a midfielders jersey again.
Brown, Kwasnik and Gao all top notch performances. Great to see Lochead looking like the Lochy of old and well done Muscat you were great.

Why does no one mention Draper? Not Hearfield- a Kiwi successor to Covs, someoone that bit younger. Though Covs certainly wasn't poor, just didn't look dangerous.

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

Good thing about today is that nearly everyone played well. I give it to Brown because he was inspirational staying on with that head wound, scoring the winning goal and then showing great maturity in the midfield to help us get over the line.

Yeah, I should've mentioned Draper as a possibility. He should get the same treatment as Costa does.

Didn't he also say he wanted to sign with another club if he didn't get enough game time here. Hes pushing it too far.

Good call on Draper guys. He's probably more of a foil for Smeltz too, good in the air, whereas Costa's better on the deck. Just don't put Kwasnik or Hearfield up front again.

Siggy, first goal came from him pushing out and he and Dodd and the Sydney attack in their pockets.

He'd be an asset at NZFC level still but thinking ge's going to get another A League club might be a bit of a stretch.

then again Sydeny were V.average.
I disagree.
They had the wood on us for the first 30-35 and got frustrated with it not being a 4-0 walk over which I am sure they would have expected to.
As we gained back some possession, we gained confidence. Sydney weren't average. They just frustrated themselves as we have done in the past...

I thought it could get pretty ugly after 1/2 an hour. Sydney were creating chances and they were up 1-0. We weren't. Then Smeltz scored and changed everything.

If the team play the same next week as today, then i will all come togther nicely. When we went 2-1 up were really played some great and intelligent football. The whole team turned up for the game and it showed. Our defence seemed a lot calmer even when under pressure, well done. Kwasniick played well out on the left.
I'm really proud of the teams application today. Let's be honest, the bling have been on fire of late, yet our boys had their measure.

Ben Sigmund.....a great game for a fine young man stepping up from NZFC and playing his natural position......against one of the best attacking sides in the league.
Thought Dodd and Brown were awesome but Siggy was my motm for his solid performance and was rock in the final 20 mins tackling everyone and some fantastic clearing headers.....
Special mention to "the beeeeest Muscat in the league"......Manny. No motm but a performance worthy of mention after a couple of poor displays and loss of confidence recently......well done Manny!!!

Brown was mine, he was all over the midfield really controlled and provided the direction we were so in need of. And to get the winner just topped it off. It's almost worth giving a team MOM award though. Superb.

No one played poorly.
paston and Brown had good games.
Paston showing signs of improvement
Brown after that knock to the head he played awesome

Sigmund for me.
He was class right from the start of the match.
Others like Brown,Dodd and Smeltz came into their own and had excellent matches eventually, but I though Siggy, in his first full game, was brilliant.

Yes, that was a massive 5 minutes from Sigmund. Frankly I was amazed at how well that cobbled together defence played. Lochy's best game by a long way, Dodd solid and cool-headed, Sigmund and Muscat chasing like terriers and generally marking up nice and tight.
Last year our defene would've bombed that game in the last few minutes; this year it held firm.

Brown was brilliant, Dodd and Siggy solid as rock, Kwassa and Gao were very nice going forward, and Lochhead is improving more and more since his Boro trial. The only reason I didn't vote for Brown or Siggy is because I noticed Manny didn't have any votes, and he was all up and down that right flank for the full ninety and proved that he was worthy as Lia's replacement, so he gets my vote.
You know we belong together...
