I'm gonna steal WPF's usual thread.

Toss up between Ifill and Rojas. Probably Ifill just.

Definitely Ifill!
Definitely Caceres!

Tossed up between Ifill and Caceres. Ifill won the penalty, scored it, and scored another. That's a decent claim! Caceres had some good runs, and set up Ifill nicely for the goal. Went Caceres because I'm nearly always voting for Ifill!

I went with Caceres. He played some very nice football and had a lot of fun doing it. And he set up Ifill for that much needed second goal to seal the game for us.

Reddy also played very well. He knew what he wanted and (Thanks to the quiet crowd) you could hear a lot of his calls. and he has a great presence in the box. He just needs to stop kicking balls low from his hands.

Not sure that he organises the defence as well as Paston.

I voted for Caceres, because I think he played better than everyone. was good on the ball, great skills and awesome passes.
Also Liam Reddy gets a mention: what a pity he will be going to Sydney next year (will he?). With he and Pasty between the sticks I'd feel very safe.

Manny Muscat had a great game too (apart from that flying elbow at one point). I thought he was going to make a fool of himself, but he proved me wrong and I'm very happy about it!! Brown and Lia got pushed forward a lot more and we were finally quite threatening from crosses and headers!

My vote is Caceras by a long way. Ifill class as always and Reddy very solid though. I think Reddy maybe injured as well. Stopped taking his goal kicks and side footed one out.

Its no longer a problem.

Caceres or Reddy for me. I also liked what McKain and Durante bring to a central defensive pair.

If Caceres can keep it up then we have a great squad for finals run

Caceres and Ifill were both terrific, Caceres was buzzing all over the place and looked very threatening, as well as giving Ifill the passes to both win the penalty and score the second (what a fantastic move that was). Voted Ifill because I am so pleased he seems to have gotten back to the sort of form he's been lacking for the past few games, a lot more comfortable now that we know we can play well without Greenacre. I voted for Caceras, He's starting to show good form and at this time of the season with 7 games left, that can only be a good thing for the team spirits

Assuming you're not taking the piss; For the first half of the season Leo and Ifill were consistently our best players. Leo then had a form slump, got benched and came back better but not up to early season form. I think Leo is a confidence player - the team winning, Ifill really hitting his straps and Caceres's growing confidence will rub off on Leo and I'm betting he will return to his best over the next few games.

On his day (and he has had plenty of them for the Nix) he is clearly one of our best players.

Daniel however promises much and delivers..... If only some of Caceres's direct style, strength on the ball and mongrel could rub off on Daniel.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

c'mon. We like Daniel because he does a few step overs. Caceres is a better player imo. He has a powerful boot. Eg last night - forced a good save. He is not afraid to take players on and he is always willing to have a crack at goal.

yea, i know Daniel is a "creative" player but really we have not seen that this season from him. Caceres comes straight in, forces a mistake from the keeper, wins us the draw and a week later sets up 2 goals for 3 points.

Daniel needs to step up his game to Caceres' level.

Eh, they are different players. Caceres is much more direct, can beat the first man often, doesn't track back, can't really cross that well and has a low work rate. Daniel crosses a lot better but is nowhere near as good at taking on players or shooting. Has learned in the last 2 years how to track back and tackle.

There were only two players that showed class and we know who they are-- they got the most votes.

I thought Muscat went well for a first match in a new position.
Lockhead made a good pass to start 2nd goal

anyway I voted for Ifill mainly for the 20 points getting me over the line in FSFL

also Vince Lia is a good player who tries hard. Most successful teams have a 'Vince Lia'.

Yeah but Lochhead sent the briliant pin-point cross to Caceres before he backhealed to Ifill.

If you go back far enough, Lochhead has started every goal we've scored this season

I went for Manny, played really well in an unfamiliar position. Thought he was really effective and Ifill got second.

Caceras had his best game for us, but it was not that good of game. His assist was good and he had some nice touches but his final ball was often to heavy, He may have made 1 decent cross all night out of a dozen attempts.

Watch the replay and you will see how many promising positions were wasted by those deliveries.

Lochy had a mare, so how he gets five votes is a little confusing.
