+1

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Well Leo had the assist and almost had another had Smeltz slotted in the chance in second-half although that was more thanks to Brown leaving it. Daniel also looked alright in the second-half.

From what i heard on the radio it has to be someone who put in plenty on defence.

Well then it would be Muscat but Leo would be one of the form players in the A-league atm imo.

Leo was great, but Manny saved one certain goal, and headed clear another that CCM should have scored, was his best game for the nix

Sadly true.

I thought Dodd was good tonight - free kicks excepted. Can't have been easy coming back to face a team of CCM's quality but he fought well and won some very important headers, an area where we have been struggling in recent times.

One option should have been the back four combined. It was a group effort

Hearfield drew both defenders to leave Smeltz unmarked for the goal.

Moss for me - he saved our arse (3 points) a few times tonight.

Leo was also very good - he delivers week after week -  a class act.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Gave my vote to Bertos, followed by Muscat and Mc Kain.
I honestly think that Manny had a great game, but I'm not surprised. Lots of people have expressed doubts over his performances in the past few weeks, and I haven't, ever.
I think he's one of the most 2-3 consistant players we have, he always delivers, he never gives us. He's simply great.

Back to Bertos, what can I say? Boom Boom's got skills, he's got pace, he's got vision. That's enough, innit?!
He did very well, and he should've been given a penalty. I seriously can't believe how inconsistant the refree was today. It was actually painful to watch. It seemed as though, throughout the whole game, he wanted the CCM to equalise. Had they done so, I really don't know what we would've done ey, us in the Fever Zone. I would've gone beserk, that's for sure!

Not too many stand out performances, but I though Muscat was the best in black.
He did loads of good work and won some crucial balls.

Smeltz did well considering our lack of forward play.

Moss did well except for kicking.

Leo had his moments.

We were under too much pressure in midfield I though, Mckain had his moments speading the play well ,but struggled overall.

Dodd didnt do a lot wrong, but Id rather have Sigmund in there than him or Durante.

Still , overall its a great win under pressure - not a game for purists or for raw entertainment, but satisfying none the less.

I go Moss. Kept the 3 points in the bag on more than 1 occasion.

Thought Lochy had one of the better games he has in a while.

And the others mentioned also did well, Bertros, Semltzy Mossy.

Not a great performance though, but 3 points nonetheless

Bertos had another good game but it had to be Moss last night. He made at least two saves there that few other keepers would have made... he was by far our best player.

Not sure how Muscat gets so many votes. He played alright and made some important challenges but he gets turned inside out far too often for my liking. His fitness also seems to be lacking... he was almost crawling for that last 20 mins.

Bertos MOM for me.

Closely followed by Muscat and Moss.

Moss made some spectacular saves like he always does, however I was standing there thinking that at least a couple of those situations would have been cleaned up before they got to the point of needing his acrobatics were Paston in goal.  Moss pulls off excellent saves more more often than not puts himself in the position to have to make them.

Every CCM set piece had me worried because Moss was reluctant to go out and claim the ball.  Well done on the clean sheet for sure, but I can't help but feel that was due to luck more than great keeping.

I'll say Durante for MOM.  Our defense was pretty solid and he's the man back there marshalling it.  Also if the ref hadn't of given that offside when CCM nearly scored (and given the ref's record in that game I wouldn't put it past him) it was only Durante stopping that equaliser.

Bertos for me. Created our best scoring chances and worked hard popping up on both wings and tracked back with urgency others lacked.

I am suprised by how well Muscat is polling, I thought he had a very average night. He didnt deal with a lot of balls that came his direction, lots of miss kicks, gave opposition players lots of space. Maybe watching the game on TV gives a different impression but I did not think he played well at all.

I was at the game and have watched it again on TV. Muscat did a great job. I played as a defender at a reasonable level for 20 years and can appreciate what he was doing.

He's quick and is a nuggety little bug g er... and in that position you need a little bit of mongrel in ya. He's got that is spades and what he may lack in finesse he makes up for in sheer determination and attitude. He also gets forwards a lot and sometimes the best form of defence is attack. He is also quick and seems to recover well. He does have some weaknesses but overall he's good value.

Considering the problems we had in that position last year and at the start of this year I think we should be grateful.

He is our best option in that position for sure.

Agree with that. In the first half he was also getting pulled inside to pick up strikers so that was leaving room out wide. The defensive shape seemed to be a lot better in the second half. He's playing well and he's only going to get better. Good signing.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Agree Muscat played well and did a great job. There seem to be a bunch of people on the forum for who Muscat will never be good enough or play well enough.

The player that to me continues to disappoint is Hearfield who I think for second week running was totally ineffective.

MOM was definitely Moss he kept us in that game with a number of quality saves. As for the comment that Paston would have cleaned up the situation before it got to Moss having to make the save, what a load of bo**ocks.

I fully agree with that, although that is the sort of keeper Moss is and he does it well.
On attack I think we saw some good performances, but we didn't shut them down and win enough possession to use that more, we spent a lot of time camped in our own third and letting them knock it round the middle.
You know we belong together...

If by that you mean he needs to stop turning the ball over easily to the opposition then I agree completely.  3 Times in the box he had the ball taken off him without looking for the shot or the easy layoff.  3 times he carried the ball into trouble instead of playing the easy ball inside, ran himself out of options and turned the ball over easily.  Twice he tripped over the ball and gave it away easily.  Once he tripped on the ball and luckily had it rebound of a mariners defender for a corner.  That was the best piece of play on the ball I saw from him.
