I'm kinda surprised this doesn't exist yet...

Siggy for me. Completed took Dadi out of the game (until he went off).

Leo - ran his bollocks off and never stopped trying to make something happen.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Daniel I think changed the match when he came on and it was his curling strike that parried into Tim Brown's head - I would have voted for him but for the fact he got so little game time.  Instead I voted Leo who ran attack after attack at the Glory defense even during the periods where most of the team was flat and uninspired.

Can't believe Smeltz missed three he would normally score - header in the first half, his turning low shot past the post and then the gimme in the second period.  It was however fantastic to see the rest of the team contributing to the shots with Ferrante, McKain, Bertos and Daniel all on target with sweet driven shots.

Leo.

McKain was great but gave possession away a bit too easy at times. (so did Leo but it doesn't matter so much when you give it away trying to beat the full back)

was undecided between Mc Kain, Bertos and ... Brown..
and I voted for Brown in the end. He ran heaps and got a goal (almost 2) which wasn't actually that easy to score.
To me the fact that he scored (could've been luck) gives him a bit of an edge over McKain and Bertos - who of course played an immense game!

But Brown..I could hardly stand the sight of him last year, to be honest, and this year he really proved me wrong. Plus I found out that he's not actually as old as I thought. I like the way he plays. MoM in my humble opinion

Bertos, constant threat all night. If his shot hadn't been saved it would've been glorious and he would've been MOM in a canter. McKain close 2nd.

McKain for me, but I did like the way Leo played overall, hard one to vote.

McKain was fantastic, he beats players easily and can tackle and pass beautifully. I gave Daniel his second vote for being the one who came on (apparently with an injury) and got our attack going.
You know we belong together...

very true. If I'm not mistaken first Topor-Stanley with a diving header and then the Perth keeper (with a touch that deflected the ball on to the bar) denied Boom-Boom of a much deserved goal. As I said, I gave my vote to Brown, but I want to stress again how much of an impact Leo makes every time he plays. They all know he's a talented footballer and he has a bit of a Fred-effect (frightening effect) on the opposition defenders, which is awesome.

We love you Boom Boom we do!

Daniel.  He barely played but he was great.  He made some good runs, did a delightful stepover and without his shot we wouldn't have equalised.

Would have gone for McKain except felt Dadi was his man for their goal. Bertos gets it for great effort going forward.

There are people that vote for the same players week after week rendering these polls as retarded.
Votes for Muscat, Smeltz, Hearfield, Ferrante as MOM on Saturday? WTF?

I thought Smeltz had his best game for quite a while apart from the bad miss.

I think Smeltz has been excellent for the last three games; in fact ever since he got his move to GC sorted out he's been a different player. Sharp, motivated and dangerous.

Interesting though against Perth: without Fred there he seems to be forced wider to get the ball which makes him and our attack less effective. He's obviously very good receiving and holding the ball centrally, but wasted when he's out wide putting in crosses to no one in particular.

Crossing to no-one in particular is a highly underrated football tactic.

Interesting that Lochhead made team of the week for the HAL (the only Nix player to do so).Arsenal2008-12-16 08:45:29

If you think he was the best player out there on Saturday then I guess that's your opinion. I think Smeltz and even Ferrante were ok on Sat, but no where near MOM performances. My point being there are those that vote for players just cos they can. These polls are a laff, but good reading when bored.
