Just got home from the game. Ifill is the man of the match for me, great game. Honourable mention to Bertos who played a good game once again.

that freekick...man...was damn good!!!! Though Ifill played well, his goal was from Bertos's cross and he didn't last the whole game, so Bertos for me

Yeah I was just thinking that but Ifill had a few terrific shots in that game although his communication was lacking at times it seemed, although later in the season that should be fixed.

Ifill, he really looked like he wanted it today, looked dangerous in the game both before and after his goal

Honorable mention to Grenacre. He didn't stop running all night.

But bertos was amazing.

Ifill and Diego were great, but no doubt who deserves MotM, he created the first goal beautifully and that was a stunner freekick. Great game out wide and through the middle.

Now I have to decide whether to get IFILL or DIEGO on the back of my home shirt, tough call...

Well as much as Ifill was great, Bertos was the one with the winner that gave us the three points and he has been in the thick of the action. So I voted Bertos on the one goal that upgraded the one point with two extra point.

I like Ifill and Greenacre - Ifill holds the ball up very well and looks class, Greenacre is is one hungry muthafrigga!

We don't all hate him you know, just don't believe he's the next Buffon.

Bertos for attacking play, chances created and OMG that goal.  Diego was good for 60 odd minutes and Ifill is a great target man and ran well...not quite there yet I feel so must have struggled through last season in parts.

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

I would still like to know because despite my slight biasness towards him he was not MOM today and I think they are just doing that to piss people off.wellyphoenixfan2009-08-16 20:03:30

Let it go and lets stick with the thread

Leo for me but only just. I thought Ifill was inspiring early, and Diego added a lot

Sigmund for me. Welcome return to his best: fantastic defensive headers, last ditch tackles and tight shepherding of their attackers away from goal.

I like Diego over Brown - Brown may be better defensively, but Diego offers more on attack. Sorry, a bit off topic...

Can't really argue with anyone here.  Bertos just edges it over Ifill, Diego and Greenacre.

Bertos was class but I thought Ifill just showed exactly what we needed up front. He took on defenders, had some powerful shots and got a deserved goal.

I didn't vote for Bertos last week and was well deserving this time around. Good work.

I'm with you. Bertos Fantastic again and Ifill did a ton of work but I watched Siggy and he was great. Didn't see him do anything wrong and for a hobbit he wins loads in the air.
Seamonster for me tonight.

I voted Daniel as a comedy vote.

I now feel sick and hate myself.

Bertos gets my vote! Great to have the phoenix back at home, its been far too long. New lads all had stunning games. Atmosphere was brilliant.

nah I like McKain, he's not playing to his usual standard this year, but his just as tough as Brown and much more skillful. His passing has been bad I agree, maybe it's a confidence thing...

Bertos for me. Every time he gets the ball he isn't afraid to run at players. Which is what we need. Think we would have been better off putting on Costa rather than Daniel tbh

Bertos for me - can't go anywhere else with both the assist and goal and creative and busy most of the game

But thought he wasn't the standout he was last week, with Ifill, Diego adding to the play up front, looking good, Greenacre doin the business again like a pro, and the whole squad picking up the effort level

Great for the Nix with a few potential MOM candidates, but THAT goal, jeez, unreasonable goal that was - that cinches MOM for Leo for me.

Bertos was outstanding for the whole game.Ifill had a great 1st half. I thought Lia was decent when he came on.
