Very interesting, pretty bad till the last 10 mins. Hearfield was a super sub for me, while Bertos seemed to be doing everything. We need to improve on our crosses ill be interested to see how many we did most of them except Hearfields were pretty bad.wellyphoenixfan2008-11-23 19:59:45

I voted for the Seamonster. Again. Should have got the captain's armband with Durante out.
Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.

Well he plays with passion so thats a definate bonus, I thought he gave away too many free kicks today and although he was still good, he wasn't the best.

Bertos attempted to make things happen most of the game...

Who the hell voted for Smeltz? Worst game in a Nix jersey. The guy was invisible except for 5 seconds. Bertos outshone him up front.

Bertos. Provided one of the goals and was creative in attack. Daniel was very good when he came on also.

bertos had the dedication, but really saw the quality of Fred for me, creating oportunies, before we had the 10 men advantage

Fred for me. He tried a few things that didn't work but a lot more that did. He was involved the whole time. And the others around him started to get involved too. At last, living up to their potential. I think Fred helped bring it out of them.

Fred and Bertos could become very dangerous for opposing teams

Fred in the first Half was outstanding, in the second noone really shone consistantly. Bertos had a good start and finish, but was poor for most of the second half, he needs to stick to the wide positions and use his pace, he is no way near as effective through the middle and took too many touches for my liking.

Bertos, hard-working creating chances and his link-ups with Fred were a highlight.

We love you breezey,
we do!

Voted Daniel, he turned it around for us and should be starting.
Bertos was fantastic, and Fred showed good signs other than  when he was in on goal, took far to many touches.
You know we belong together...

Fred - a class above

Ferrante was involved and changed the angles well

Siggy great attitude - as usual ( a bit lucky not to get pinged for a wee nudge - two hands into the back - on headcase griffiths)

Leo seemed to relish the space we were given, due to the jets inability to resist the temptation to try to injure our players

Bertos looked as if he had drank some special juice or something, very busy tonight, good to see.

Lockhead crosses made me sad.

Daniel seemed to lift the team when he came on.

Dodd, how did he not get sent off? Gone for Melbourne game now?

he was good to start with but went missing for the whole second half and didnt seem to try to hard to get involved and he fluffed an oppurtunity to score compared to what people said he was gonna play like on here hence the use of his name being compared to faeces

Siggy for me - even when he fouls people he does it with poise.

I thought Fred brought a completely different dimension (ie linking midfield and attack with bursts of speed) to the Nix that will be welcome. Yes, a few dodgy early touches andhe faded away in the second half but for a debut and 5 days training you've got to take your hat off to the guy.

Bertos actually showed some muscle tonight which i thought was quite good.

I was really impressed with McKain keeping Song pretty quiet in the first half too.

If Bertos could challenge in the air then he'd be our best player tonight full-stop! He gets muscled off almost everytime.

Yes, agreed.
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Bertos for me, I do like him up front and even though he was in a 2 man forward line (till hearfield came on) he used his pace to chase balls sent forward and generally played quite wide anyway.  Much prefer him up along the defensive line where he can turn them around.

Fred was good for a start but faded in the second half - Daniel was the right sub and we all knew it (and chanted it at Ricki) and after he came on we started getting some venom in our attack.  Good to see shots flying from the nix even if they are drives from 30 yards.

Fred + Leo. If Smeltz wasn't completely horrible tonight (apart from his finish) we would've had a lot of chances in that first half imo.

Daniel all the way, he lifted the crowd and put a fire in our belly, start him next week with Fred and Bertos and watch the magic unfold.

Hearfield edging out Bertos. Leo has a great, consistent game, but it was Troy who earnt us the three points.

Ferrante and Muscat also had great games.
