Greenacre for me. I was very impressed with how he played today certainly one of our and the leagues most under-rated players. Durante (who will probably win this poll) and Reddy were awesome too. Ifill was very indecisive and a few poor touches at crucial times which is something we haven't really seen from him this season but he got the winner in the end.wellyphoenixfan2010-03-07 18:57:38

Durante, but damn Daniel was good when he was on.

I think Daniel played enough minutes to justify availability for Man of the match. I thought he was amazing when he came on and could have had a number of assists with some better finishing. Should take Leo's spot for next week.

Yeah Daniel was good. Might take Leo's spot but remember he was tired from the game against Mexico.wellyphoenixfan2010-03-07 19:08:56

I am quite biased in favour of Daniel because I love his style, but he did play his best ever hour of football for the Phoenix today. Everyone gave their blood, sweat and tears but Daniel was amazing, even on defence ffs!.

Ifill, (also player of the season for me)

Yes he wasnt at peak but he still is incredibly potent, and scored the winning goal (before the next one).

He is the best attacking player I have seen in this league

How Ifill is not our marquee just amazes me. Good job Tony P on keeping all our squad under the salary cap.

Vince Lia
crikey he stops a lot of problems

Ifill, Durante, Reddy are always very good
Sigmund went OK, so did Brown, Daniel and Greenacre
Muscat as done pretty well in DM role

for Jets
how many times did NTS save them?
no exaggeration to say 12 times he's in the way
Ali Abbas looks alright too despite lack of leg sturdiness.

I thought Lochhead played well, not MoM but played above his usual standard. Probably Dura but Greenacre and Daniel deserve mentions.

Has to be Ifill. It always looked like he was gonna be the key.
He had a hand in all the goals and was unlucky not to have a hand in quite a few more.

Reddy second best though.

Iflll, Greenacre and Reddy have made a huge difference to our team.

Gonna say Ifill. everyone, including Reddy and Daniel, Durante and Muscat, Brown and Greenacre deserve a mention. but the man scored 2 goals and carried us through. the man is class.

Excitement must have got the better of you, NZpower. Ifill should've scored about 4 but ended up with just the one.

Brown for me, was everywhere, scored a nice goal and to play 120mins after playing 80mins on thurs is a hell of alot of km's covered for a CM. but yeah most of the team played very well, even Lochy.

He's not the most skillfull, quickest or visionary player in the team but no one has a bigger heart or wears the Nix shirt with more pride.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

dura had a superb match with numerous crucial tackles and some good work pushing forward

manny had a great outing and iffy - a usual caused plenty of problems

Timmo backed up well

some gutsy work by the entire side!!

I'm emotionally drained but happy

All the non talkers voted Dura I see.  Soild in defence most of the game.  Daniel turned it for me in the second half of normal time.

Ifill was good as usual but failed to finish about 4 decent chances, so for that reason I voted Durrante but I was also very impressed with Daniel when he came on.

He did OK. A few misplaced passes but no more than Lia and Muscat for example. He got forward very well, especially when Daniel came on - he fed Lochy with some beautifully weighted passes and Lochy ran on to them all, exhausted though he was, then got good crosses in and won some corners. I'm more than happy with his performance.

Voted Durante but loved Daniel's contribution. His quality of passing was outstanding.

No question for me..Durante, but also thought Daniel played well when he came on

Ifill won us the game with his skill in extra time, but we'd never have got there if Reddy didn't pull off a couple of critical saves. So I voted for him, especially because I thought we were quite shaky at the back.

Voted for daneil because thought he made the biggest impact to the team. Durante saved our ass a few times though.
Ummm.. who voted for Sigmund?

Watching the game where everything Lochhead does isn't wrong, which, going from your point of view this season seems to be what you are watching.
Muscat MoM for me.  I thought he was outstanding winning turnover ball, and was rock solid getting back and adding that extra cog to the defence.  Durante and Daniel were also brilliant, Reddy, Greeny and Brown very good.

I used to find faults with Tims play but certainly a lot of times this season I have to agree with all your comments..well done Tim

I really rated Brown tonight based on his previous game on Mexico, he ran his ass off. Ifill was good but not perfect. Also impressed with Daniel. Daniel can pass so well and plays to the teams wants. Whereas Caceres seems to beat them and shoot.

The best quality ball servicer was Daniel when he was on the pitch. But obviously without the dominance of Durante through the game, the Jet would better chances to score. Ifill did the hard risky stuff which paid off dividends with a goal and assist. Brown, Muscat and Lia worked hard the middle. Greenacre contribution as centre forward was hard work but allow Ifill, Bertos and later Daniel room to do their stuff. It show his deserved placed on the field. Both Hearfield and Lochhead worked down the line and getting forward with Lia/Muscat with Siggy and Durante covering very well behind them. Siggy muscled the danger man for the ball having the better of the battle. Reddy steady as a Rock between the post, only that rocket angled shot beat him, everything else was in his control. Dadi either heading in attack or heading in defence and was johnny on the spot for the goal, has done nothing wrong to his rep. Degio was composed when he was on the field.

My MoM is obviously Durante as he was the Rock for the team.

I'm not voting this week - that was a great team effort. Everyone had good moments, and bad as well.

You can go on about that missed tackle, or a few missd passes, but as I wrote ages ago, if these guys were that good, they wouldn't be in the A-League. (St. Pl Ifill aside).

Well done boys. Let's see you take that form on the road now.

Durante MoM for me, absolutely immense game holding everything together and I love seeing him get angry at the back in the final 10 minutes.

Daniel was outstanding on the left and the number of runs he did when play started breaking down was seriously impressive, his delivery was a class about what Leo was putting out.

Ifill dangerman as always, although he missed a few you could aways tell the winner was going to come from him, and he made the hard chance look easy.

The best quality ball servicer was Daniel
Ball servicer??? I presume that's someone who pumps them up and repairs punctures. Passer maybe?
Oh, and Tim Brown for me. Durante was superb, but Brown was immense.

Never been a great Daniel fan but voted for him today!
He really geed the team and the crowd up and his cross that led to the Daddi goal was spot on ,he obviously loves the  big occasion !

Ifill...he's just carving up defences all over the show..did fluff a few chances though.

Durante..great player and just f**kin cool quite frankly.

Daniel was good but boy I hate when he gees up the crowd..especially after not hitting the target with a volley and only after being on for 2 mins???
