Definitely Roly for me. Others either surprised by playing better than expected, or lifted their level to cover others (Sigmund), but Roly was our best player on the park by a distance. He absolutely bossed the middle of the park, and for the second game in a row the opposition's only response was to try and kick him as much as possible.

Actually looking at our team this year, if we're going to continue doing this, and people vote based on who really is the best, as opposed to who surprised or scored a goal, Roly should probably win about 80% of these polls.

I don't think thats fair on Sigmund. Rolly managed to hold the ball a few times where he shouldn't have, and had good vision and passing. But Sigmund made Muscat look like a centre back.

Siggy man of the match for me. Look at what he had to work with, a make shift CB that we know has historically not been at his best when playing that position and two wingbacks who were out of sorts.

Very good point - I didn't really appreciate that.  Not so much Manny but the wing backs definately.

Roly was quite obviously the best over the whole game - by a long way - but I thought WeeMac's general play was good (free-kicks were shocking + that miss wasn't too great though). Also thought that Krishna was basically our only goal threat apart from Roly.

Siggy was Siggy - really defended from the front and played like a captain should. Made Manny look good.

Vince Lia, because he scored the winning goal from a corner (had to remove spell checker, damn thing would not allow me to write that sentence).

He always works hard and sometimes those are the goals you need to win. This game will never be remembered for the fance Roly footwork orSigmund being Siggy. It will remembered for Vinni stepping up and doing the unthinkable!

Even before the goal I was thinking that Vinnie was having a good game.

Siggy was immense as well.

Roly though was absolutely orgasmic. Bet his man everytime and galloped away towards goal.

Agreed - Vinnie made a number of crucial clearances, was everywhere where needed him to be and was passing very well. He was MoM for me, doing the basics, but doing them better than anyone else.

Also Roly, how many times did he have two or three players tackling him and he either manages to skip away completely, or at least get the pass away. Amazing to watch.

Corona will get shutdown by our midfield on Saturday, while Roly will still have free reign. Should be good.

Yeh voted for Siggy, but swayed by good arguments above would now change my vote to Vinnie.

Aleague team of the week includes Siggy weemac and coach Ernie. Surprised by the weemac inclusion, I did think he had a much better game than the week before (I particularly like when he roamed wide he seemed much better out there) but him over roly in team of the week?

Other than scoring, I thought Lia had a pretty good game for the most part.
