Reddy will most likely be gone when Paston returns

Reddy is injury cover for Paston

Voted Manny for pretty effectively cutting out the majority of the Roar attacks. Could have just as easily gone to Reddy, McKain or of course Dadi.

Muscat. I'd like to know exactly how many tackles he made including intercepts etc. He was dynamite. Obviously Dadi and Reddy contributed very well too. I was just very impressed by Muscat who has been given a job and [I think] has more than stepped up to it.

But it just has to go to Dadi. It was very emotional to see Dadi's reaction to Brown's first goal. For someone to come into the team a week or so ago, and to show that amount of emotion, passion for another team members goal was a beautiful thing to see.

Very well said.

Thats Dadi for you. He's like that where ever he is. He was at Aberdeen for one season and won over the fans in about 30 minutes of his debut.

ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH

I'll have to say Dadi's second goal took more skill that the first. Dadi the MoM easy.

Very debatable, that. The fact that at 36 he managed to launch himself into the air like that is fantastic.
You know we belong together...

Hard to pick

Dadi: Yeah he is the obvious one but in a lot of respects now that we have that target man (That we haven't had) he did stand out because that is the type of player we have missed. You could literally kick a ball at him point blank any height and power and he either controlled it or flicked it on to the next player. Great passing lines and some good balls that threatened.

Redi: I not going to knock Paston as I think he has proved his worth. Is Reddy something better again? You can see his chatter and command of the back line, he is saving shots that a fair percentage of keepers would struggle with and there could/should have been two definite for them that Reddy saved.

The Winner

Manny Muscat. Since he has moved into the defensive midfield role in the last two games, we have dominated possession and our football looks more like football other than that shyte we saw against Adelaide and Sydney. Granted Brisbane didn't have Miller (or Moore or ....) but their midfield did nothing the entire game. He sat deep enough not to leave a gap in the middle between him and Brown/Lia but not so far forward that there was a gapping hole between him and McKain/Durante.

Grumpy old bastard alert

Who will drop out for Greenie?
If we go 4-4-2 (or 4-3-1-2) with Greenie and Dadi up front, Ifill in a wide position (or the 1 in the second option), then it's Bertos, Lia or Brown.

If we go for width, then Bertos stays. Personally I think that Lia and Brown are fairly similar types/roles, and would go for one of them missing out. I see Lia losing out to Brown.
Agree ...Lia's passing last night was poor...... and he never scores either...[he does" give it all" every week though....tough choices for the coach this week.

Dadi has to get it, added much needed shape to the team, he finished two off superbly, and showed good control throughout.

Reddy was excellent too, as where most of the team, even Lochhead had his best match for some time, shame his crossing his rather moderate.

Muscat got better and better, Lia was the only one who looked a bit out of it.

Im just sorry for Caceres who got dropped after a great game the week before.

Reddy. He showed more than just skill and shot stopping abilities. He showed even with an injury the intensity of playing against your old club and did not take a backward step. Dadi was fantastic and he had the support around him however I think Reddy showed how one person can impact a game. Impact both literal and physical.

Was so annoyed with Ifill when he didn't even manage to get a shot off and the Roar defence cleared if for a corner.  But wow, I can't describe the feelings when Dadi scored off that corner.  Brilliant.

I'd probably give Dadi MOM for such an emphatic debut, but Reddy was not far behind and behind him there was Muscat.

Lochhead, though far from MOM had a fantastic game.  He had two tremendous fails but still had a great game.

on the subject of how good Reddy is, did you guys notice he has been using his Left foot ?

he injured is right leg and instead of doing what the Roar did (get CB to take goal kicks) he has obviously done some training on his left and had the confidence to use it. Well done.

Sure did.
Reddy streets ahead of an impressive debut by Dadi I reckon. We could have staring at only one point or none without him.

Muscat impressive as was the first half by Lochhead

nOTICE HOW rEDDY RARELY KICKS THE BALL BUT THROWS IT EXTREMELY ACCURATELY TO A nIX PLAYER, NOT A KICK AND HOPE TYPE. Sorry about the caps.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

? Hearfield took most (if not all) of the goal kicks. He was using his left off the deck when he caught the ball.

edit: but to agree with you, yes, he was definitely hitting it with his left when he needed to very well.aitkenmike2010-01-10 13:23:14

How does he get 6 votes for MOM then?

Dadi made a fantastic debut, but Bertos was the most committed of the match.

My MOM is Mr Herbert.

First of all he has been inspirational in his recruitment.  Both Caceras and Dadi...rejects from other clubs have come up trumps for the Nix.

Second. selections. Troy to RB and Muscat to DM have worked real well. Muscat at DM has freed Brown to do what he does well....attack. ifill is now free to roam

Third. Tactics. The 433 formation has worked a treat for the last couple of games. Everyone seems to know whats required and are playing their part. The pieces are all in place.

Exactly!  Lochy must be a great performer because he consistently gets votes in the MOM poll.
