Karl Dodd and Felipe are tough to separate for MoM. Both had huge
impacts on the result of the game.
Ferrante played better, but was still at times frustrating, moments of class mixed with moments of crap. His long passing is great, opened up the game a number of times switching play to the left. Thought he was a bit more disciplined staying on the right and giving us width.

Felipe - for his ability to routinely take on and beat
opposition players - and his great goal. I'm sure that one'll
be in his highlights package for the rest of his life.
Daniel was useful. He's not perfect, at times giving the
ball away - but he loses the ball precisely because he takes
on the opposing team - he's creative. And his creativity
causes trouble for the opposition - makes the opposition mark him
(often with several players), thereby creating space for his team
mates, works beautifully with Felipe, works hard on defence.
Ferrante had his best game of the year. Hadn't been sure
he was up to this level, based on his wayward passes & shots in
first few games, but if he keeps playing as he did in this game,
I'll understand what Ricki has seen in him
A man who knows his stuff. Nice to see someone posting
such an accurate appraisal of the game.

I thought Ferrante was great - Wish I had the balls to tell him
that personally on the plane last night.
His distribution was excellent - and even though I criticised his striking last week I did say that I felt his ball winning and distribution skills were good.
He's a better holding/playmaking midfielder than attacking - where he's likely to end up with the ball in front of goal - and we all know that his finishing is a bit suspect.

I love Felipe had to be him, although Doddy was a rock at the back,
and Ferrante was brilliant in the 1st half .Great to hang on for
the win. 1st 3 points of the season hopefully more to come......

Yep, I think it has to go to Felipe...even though he used to play
for the enemy. But his goal changed the direction of the game, and
his ability to take people on is just so much fun to watch.
