What the hell does ricki see in OLD?? God he is ooo bad gave the ball away 23 times, got done for pace, its unbelievable, then brings a defensive midfielder on for the last ten?? is he scared, why play for a point at home?

Felipe for me, he had a cracker. I agree with the above post as well. Ricki's substitutions were clearly very conservative (Daniel for Felipe is like for like) and Johnson for Elrich didn't help us get forward either.

Speaking of Elrich, he was worryingly poor once again, maybe Daniel should be given a go on the right? On the plus side, the central midfield pair of Lia and Ferrante was fantastic again and the defence looked genuinely solid (aside from the standard lapse in concentration for the first goal). Remember, we were playing the form side in the league (they just beat CCM 2 - 1 right?), so it was a decent result. Still, it's a shame that Covs couldn't put away that 1 on 1 to win us the match.

Smeltz - for the goal and 110% commitment during the game.

And it's always a good sign if Moss isn't contending for MoTM.

I'm tempted to vote for Elrich for telling Seo where he can shove his elbows*

*(as a bioligist, I can confirm that this isn't physically possible without severe yoga and....uh, I won't continue this)

Voted Felipe but Smeltz and Dodd deserve a free McDonalds cheeseburger voucher too.

Way to bring back memories! Haha

Can't remember if my team ever got them though, coach told me import players weren't allowed man of the match awards So I never remember seeing one, since he didn't really do anything in the way of a ceremony.

But hey, I don't even like McD's cheeseburgers And if I coach next year, I'll let my foreign kids have them if they deserve them

I'm kind of torn between Smeltz, Felipe and Rees. Smeltz's brilliant goal literally turned the game - we were dreadful beforehand and Smeltz knew it. He didn't even smile when he scored, just yelled "Come on!", and after that, hey presto, we were fine. To me that's true class when a player pulls out his very best to inspire the whole team.

Felipe was a total contrast to last week - got through a heap of work in defence and attack.

Rees had one of those seemingly anonymous games, but that guy is so safe and calm at the back that he impresses me a lot. The most solid 90 minutes of anyone in the team tonight, so I'm giving my vote to him.

My team used to get McDonalds cheeseburgers and vouchers for Video Ezy. When I played in a junior youth team the coach gave man of the match $10 (bargain!).

I voted for Smeltz even though I was unable to see the game.

I think all of the players mentione above played well, but I also though Ferrante's passing and distribution was superb. Dodd had one of his best games yet as well.

Funnily enough, I am Albeit for rugby. I'm also nearsighted and partially deaf! Serious!

Old is awful man, get rid of him. He gives the ball away every time he has it, just goes for some crazy high long ball which will always go straight to opposite team. Don't like bagging him but he clearly doesn't have the class required for this level. Need another class defender. Rees is solid as, so that's a good start.  Smeltz played really well tonight.

Maybe put Sigmund in our back line?  He'd go well.

Voting for Rees, looks a really good signing .. Felipe was masterful in midfield as well, but Steven Old FFS!!! Definately isn't up to this level of football, I doubt that he would be back next year (well I hope not!)

Smeltzy for me. It'll be great if a Kiwi wins the Golden boot. Surprised Dodd didn't get more votes.

Ricki sat in the stand. O'Sulliivan and Jacobs ran the bench

Felipe had good game, work rate excellent and always good to see some passion from a player when hes been subbed off(should of been Elich for Daniel).
As for Old didnt Clebersen get axed for mindless long ball rubish, the young fella should take note

i'd be very surprised if Ricki didn't have some input into the decisions, even if only to discuss the options at half-time and/or confirm via cell phone (or smoke signals )

Smeltz was MOM for me. Rees was excellent too.

Felipe was "Man of the Match" for me. Great dribblings and good distribution of passes in midfield. Also, Smeltz showed an excellent performance. I especially liked his commitment and attack.  I wish our defense players (Old etc.) would show this attacking play more often.

yeah, both played well Ars, great to see smeltzy running at defenders and into space at a fair clip

having Covs alongside has given oppn central defenders a fair bit of movement to respond too (great to see Moore subbed off -he's a canny bastard!)

of our aussie imports Rees and Dodd are the picks for me at the moment (still have big hopes for Vince Lia tho)

I think Rees played great - my vote.

I also have to say, when Daniel came on he chanegd to pace of the game and really sparked the players up, didn't he?

Lia gave a decent account tonight. Not one of his fans as such but he put in a big effort.

Smeltz goal was pure class too!
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

I voted for Felipe but he only just got my vote over Smeltz, I thought the whole team played really well with the exception of Elrich who was very poor again.
Lochhead seems to be improving each game and so does the combination of Ferrante and Lia.

Felipe got my vote, great game by the little fella and I told him so post match when he arrived at the Four Kings....and he did well to understand my slurred words!

Smeltzy top class goal and and all round good game.  Am loving the combination in midfield of Lia and Ferrante (its becoming obvious they have an understanding from having played together before).

Dodd solid again and Rees is great - he really like to come forward and has a very good passing game.

Felipe's best game in a long while. Great to see him back at his best and especially against QLD.

Smeltz was great too but he's great every game.

Don't think Lochhead was anywhere as good as last week - still good, just not great.

O'Dor is injured. Something I didnt know till last night.
Gave my retro ricki to some random Queenland player at six in the morning. He better wear it. The players are definetly loving the Fever after talking to them on the turps.
Cheers for the shots Doddy.
My opinion of Reddy has not changed
