As a fully paid up member of the left back (in the shed) union i would normally go for Tony. But I have to say the Smeltzy showed his class. The line he ran from deep to allow Elrich to release him before he stuck it onthe back stick for Felipe to score was class.

Also his booking showed just how much he was up for it. Good on ya, fella.

Went for Lia, thought he had a great game.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Lochy for me, first half he was terrorising them, and his efforts took Downey out of the game as an attacking option

Was skeptical about seeing Lochy in midfield, but he did great tonight, wish he got that goal though!

Smeltz for his calm penalty and expert header, as well as general bulldog persistence.

No standouts today really. Lochhead did some good work early but then started coughing up possession like everyone else. I like him in that wide midfield attacking role but also think he has been one of the few consistent and reliable defenders we've had this season.

Did you see the picture Mossy drew of him in this weeks full90? Classic...

That being said, Hyuk-Su Seo dives more than Greg Louganis

I would have voted for Smeltz because he was fantastic (header was world class) but threw my vote to Ferrante because I think he has made a huge difference to our midfield. His passing (with excellent strongarm support from Lia) is often  at the beginning of our attacking breaks and we are really bossing things in the center with him there. He has excellent vision and a very smooth first touch, a joy to watch really.

Tough choice tonight, Ferrante, Lia, Lochead, Smeltz and Coveny were all good.  In terms of impact, Coveny had them worried enough to draw 2 red cards, even if they were a bit harsh.

Lochs for me. An inspiring effort. I  just wish i had had someone sending over such great crosses when I was playing. Nice right foot shot and defended well. he really suits that left midfield.

10/10

Ferrante, Lia, Lochhead, Smeltz, Coveny were all class tonight but my vote went to Lia.

Whatever anyone says about Ferrante he's a bloody good passer of the ball too.

No real standouts.  Moss as usual, Lochs, Ferrante and Smeltz for the 2nd goal all good.

I voted for Lia.  Cross for last goal outstanding.  Plus header for disallowed goal was exceptional.

Smeltzy for me. I was just so happy to see that after we got the lead that the nix didnt just start shooting randomly from outside the box like last week.

finally we had some good luck, apart from that pass back crap

Agree with most others.  Lia got my vote but could easily have picked Smeltz, Covs, Lochead, Felipe and Ferrante.  I've had a pop at Felipe in recent weeks but he seems more effective when Daniel isn't there.  Also think Ferrante is becoming our most consistent performer in the middle of the park. But good all round team effort.

 - hard to choose, another solid team effort, but gave MOTM to Coveney because with his commitment and perseverance he started the goal-fest - three cheers for the old fella !!

Lochead for me.  Once again he has shown that if you give him a wide role he is probably one of the most consistent crossers in the side.  (Although Lia's outside off the foot delivery for Smeltz's 2nd was fantastic)

Jill Bitch as auusie commentators call him must have deserved a card for touching the ref, and his consistent dissent!!

Is Coveny really 35/36? I reckon he's playing better now than earlier in his career. I think he's enjoying his football more and it is showing. Unlucky not to score tonight, especially the deflected header.

Smeltz for me. Lochead was excellent in the first half, but faded a bit in the second. Moss was very good again, and Rees came up with a few nice clearances.

Smeltz narrowly, he had a hand in all 3 goals, he took that header beautifully in between 2 defenders.

Lia, Ferrante, Lochhead, Coveny were all in good form

My vote went to Ferrante - his range of passing was impressive and controlled the midfield missing Johnno, Aloisi & Brown.

Mind you, the ref had a stunner. Failed to call him a dayglow muppet for the whole match.

I voted Smeltz. He had a good game, his 2nd goal was excellent and had a very good finish from the penalty spot. Good hassling as we have come to expect.

Smeltz for me - scores two and makes the other....top of the scoring in the League - outstanding effort.  He looks so much more comfortable when he has Coveny up front with him.

Am loving the Lia and Ferrante partnership, and the fact that Ferrante is stepping up after all the early season knockers and abuse.

Great to see Lochy getting forward again, and he really does put in some quality balls.

Here's to the rest of them playing as they did last night against the Roar but with Felipe and Daniel stepping back upj to the mark with a night of Brazilian magic.

And maybe a stunning solo effort from Elrich to make us all go "oooohhhh"

I could easily vote smeltz or lochhead but I'm going to vote for Lia, best game I've seen him play so far, my vote for him due to his commitment in the tackle, man that guy went into some crazy challenges last night never pulled out once and really worked hard in midfield broke them down again and again.

on a side note I thought that the big african dude that came on for glory played really well for them, if I was there coach I'd definitely give him a start next week, very strong and held the ball up nicely.

Agree Smeltz was good......but the reason he was good is that the team looks more balanced as a unit.

As lots of people on this forum have said, that Smeltz needs someone with pace working beside him and that Felipe is much better in the pocket behind two out in out strikers.

When Smeltz has some room and is fed good balls he is lethal. Wish we could be starting the season all over again with this lineup.

Finaly hasn't that guy Rees added some calm authority at the back...I don't get so nervous now when we are defending!!!!!

I agree with monkeyboy, wrong thread no doubt, but that big Glory Striker Fellah looked very good, reminded me of Denis Ibrahim of the old Kingz days. A possilbe signing if I was coach.

Lia for me. Good honest day's work from him again.

Lonegunmen, I understand the trainers have changed Coveny's training programme in the last few weeks. Not sure what that entails, but I agree with you it seems to be helping his fitness and form.

Don't forget Cross Bar for his work with free kick just before half time! Sterling defending!!
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

His mate Right Hand Post also did some very good defensive work in the first half.
