Couple of crucial last-minute tackles from Dodd - would've been
worse without him.

Good News for Hard News I'm Sure
Oh and whilst I now watch the replay there was an interesting
stat on The A-league website which had possession 67-33 in Favour
of Melbourne....I only caught the last 15 minutes but we were all
over them?

Tim Brown in the first half,
in the second half Felipe (returning to form) or Dodd (he seemed to get some harsh calls form the ref)

Have to say a joint effort not any particular player, how ever
rules are rules and i'll be unpredictable and say Doddy!!!

A-League website stats = hopeless.

Dodd cleaned up every time, was positionally solid, and probably
most important, was cool calm and collected every time he swept up
at the back. Great for instilling confidence, and playing like a
real natural centre-back.
Lia a close second. Had a point to prove to Merrick, who had
better things to do than interviews for tv in case you didn't
realise....

For me its the new boy Rees, seems to have
fitted in seamlessly and at last the defence is starting have
solid look about it ,now the strikers just have to stop being so
tentative in and on the edge of the box ,you can have all the
possession you want but its ultimately about sticking the
ball in net, still definitely more positives than negatives
last night!
The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.

Yea i agree Doddy was a work horse last night and saved our ass a
number of times, as well as Rees, but he comitted quite a lot of
fouls.
I thought the 1st half was average, no commitment up front and Filipe didn't push forward enough.
Lia had a blinder, great support goal too.
Din't really notice Brown at all, that could be a good thing.
Elrich picked his game up in last 30mins with good runs down the flank and setting up Lias goal.
I actually thought Tony was flat last night and missed a few tackles, althoughn he did push up and give a few decent crosses.
Daniel was okay, one decent shot, good passing with Filipe and co.

Definantly Dodd He Knows Like All Of Us Do That Thompspn Is To
Dangerous To Have 1 On 1 And Dodd Stuck On Him And Without Him We
Would Have Lost

Yeah Lia & Doddy had blinders!
Whats happened to Lochead? His ball distribution in the last 4/5 games has turned to sh*t.

Karl Dodd for me. When Archie Thompson was getting onto long
through balls and getting clear, inevitably Dodd would come across
with a key play. Oh, and what a run... typical though finish,
a 'Nix player trying to be too cute rather than sniping an open
goal... Felipe in the last 10 was shocking at that.

Lia for me, did well when it counted, thought dodd had an
exceptional game also, and lets not forget the always consistant
mossy

Both Vinny and Lia had great games, we should of won. Felipe should
of punished that last ball he had in the box instead of give it to
Smeltz(or Coveny I forgot who it was). Otherwise great game. Can't
wait for next 3 weeks. Will see you on friday the again on
saturday!!!

We can draw with the best of the best... now we need to start beating some damn teams!

Pained me to see Lochhead have an off game...but it also
highlighted what an excellent job Dodd did.

i think felipe is coming back to his best with that 2nd half
performance

Felipe was better once he could drop back and run at players
instead of playing in a striker's role. A bit like Ferrante, brings
good qualities to the game (Ferrante's passing for example) but
fish out of water too far up front. A bit like me.....

couldnt agree more, would rather see covs start upfront with smeltz an bring felipe back to the midfield for ferrante

Surely has to be Karl Dodd. Stunning game from him.

Lochhead may take a bit of adjusting to a back 3 situation, where
he can't get forward as naturally as he is used to doing. That may
explain his form v Melbourne.

The boys played very well int he second half. Filipe in the halves
could be the solution as he seemed much happier their than up
front. Now we need goals and wins.
Three weeks at home is going to be just the tonic the lads need, if we get the 20K the media are predicting then that will be sweet sweet icing on the cake to begin those 3 games.

Dodd for me..covered a lot of ground and enabled the go forward
effort to continue ahead of him..a good tackle to snuff out threat
as well.
We need a striker or 2 badly!..although 3 games in week for
Smeltz showed.
A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

Dodsy! Locked up the leagues best striker.
Lia only kicked the ball once and it went in the
goal. He was as surprised as I was.
