For the first time that I can recall we had the benefit of music played during the game. We did make quite a lot of noise after we scored so why somebody decided we had to have a soundtrack is beyond me.

Music before the match and at half-time is fine, but during the game is is just wrong.

I found the music right up to kick off annoying. Fans were warming their voices up and the stupid music was interferrring. Have we switched to Rugby mode at Nix games?? Kill the music!

100% agree! Music during games is the bane of modern sport. It assumes we are so stupid and easily bored that we need massively loud music to get us in the mood. YF make their own mood.

We have such good crowd noise it's completely unnecessary to play music after a goal, if we had sh*t supporters like Queensland I could understand.

Ideally all that should be played is Ring of Fire & Phoenix City at the start of the game.
And if they ever play "Why does love do this to me" at a Phoenix game, I'll start a riot.

Ring f Fire at half time I can understand  and accept, so too Phoenix City, but certainly not before or after or during the game. Grrrrrrrrrr

hopefully it's not going to get like the cricket - every time there's a break in play the music starts up ......

Bring back the barracuda !!!

Got in late as the missus needed to buy a ticket (but she's cute so I forgive her) so missed the music and Queenslands goal. Maybe it wasn't such a bad thing after all...

Only twice have I missed kickoff, both against Queensland. Probably a good thing for them, they don't need me screaming VAFFANCULO CANETOADS as they exit onto the field

Tony P, please do something about this

everyone agrees that football is overflowing with atmosphere

rugby and cricket feel the need to play music to generate emotion during the match, football has the crowd and doesn't need this intrusion

this would be a suicidal path for us to go down, why dilute our number one selling point for new fans??

other sports will be desparately trying to copy the secret of our success -they will fail because they aren't football

but let's not help them by copying their attempts to create plastic atmosphere

Hear hear! I wasn't at the match last night sadly but if I was I wouldn't have been terribly impressed with music being played during the game.

The boundrys between going to a sporting event and watching it on telly are becoming blurred. Going to a game (any game, any code) nowadays is like watching it on telly, with the volume on full and you can't change the channel when the ads are on. When it comes to creating atmosphere, the crowd are surplus to requirements and I HATE IT!! Just let us talk, sing, carry on, whatever without bellowing techno and car ads at us, FFS!

Rant over.

Couldn't agree more about the ferkin music!!!!

Especially at the start....the YF zone were in full cry and you could not hear them because of the damn music. I stopped going to one day cricket coz of the bloody hits from the siixties blaring out every thirty seconds. They should turn the music off as soon as the YF arrive and are in full voice and NO MUSIC at any stage during the game!!!!!!!
Also when we are trying to salute our brave boys off the field at the end of the game we get drowned out. I go there for the atmosphere, at least at home I can hit the mute button.

Please could we have a formal letter from the official YF supporters club saying we don't want the music dominating the fans. We can create our own atmosphere.

I dont remember there music being played when we scored a goal, only until recently....

I remember when they blasted out some rubbish when Moss stopped a penalty though. Comic.

Yeah, I seem to recall music being played after Smeltzy's goal - being I was in Aisle 32 and could actually hear :) Needless to say, music at the football after a goal is scored confused me - the only thing that comes close to the spectacle of the goal being scored is the reaction to it from players and fans alike - there's no need for music to entertain anybody.

I guess I'm just repeating what everyone else said though. Keen to see the music gone starting from the Sydney game, and into the next season.

There was no sign of those netball thunder sticks at the game which I was glad for (were they at the Perth game? I wasn't there >.>).  Still the music playing over the stadium system is annoying, if they want to be music happy let em wait till rugby season, football is about singing!

Thankfully, the bangers have disappeared. None at Perth game either.

I saw some on the way out. Was tempted to pop, but restrained myself.

Having never been to a game in Welly I was puzzled as to what these 'bangers' were that people were complaining about. For a long time I thought they were gangs of long-haired Heavy Metal freaks, or maybe packs of saucy teenage girls of ill repute. Made the YF Zone sound like a really exciting place....

Go to a netball game. Or watch one on TV.

Way to go. The constant barrage ofmusic really pisses me off too. What we have happening at the stadium is really special and does NOT NEED ARTIFICIAL STIMULATION!!!! A formal letter from the fvr would be a good way to go. I would sign it for sure. The fever are what is making this thing rock and the corporate marketing types blaring the same old sh*** in terms of music IS NOT REQUIRED. Get a letter happening I say

Only Pink Floyd should ever be played extra  loud - but NOT even at a Phoenix game!
