Name your 3 modest aims for the season

OK, so we all want the Nix to win the league. But this thread is about more modest aims.

You have to name 3 smaller things you would like to have happen this season. Things that are possible, not unreasonable, but would still be an achievement.
Maybe it's to have a particular player score a goal.

My three are:
  • Beating Adelaide. The only team of the other original 7 who we haven't beaten yet. I'd probably prefer it at home, but either is OK.
  • Jon McKain to get more recognition. He's one of our best players in my opinion. He should have been selected for the A-League Socceroos squad.
  • Play a beautiful passing game like we did in season 1.

1. Win the league.
2. Qualify for Asian Champions League after the rules are changed and then win it.
3. Win World Club Champions after defeating Arsenal in the final.

1. Ifill and Greenacre develop a good partnership and together score more goals than Smeltz
2. Rojas and Costa get a decent amount of gametime and impress
3. Play with attacking flair

2. finish with the Least amount of goals conceded
3. Top 2 finish and really wipe the look off of the person who wrote in the smh  we'd finish last

Prove there is life after Smeltz &  Moss (ok they are firmly written in our folklore.) in the Phoenix.

Finish top 5 with entertaining attractive football.

Try to maintain my 22 game A League Home Game Attendance streak for as long as possible - selfish I know but a record I am very proud of.

Win opening game at Newcastle (this will create the chance for a last minute flood for season tickets and a cracking atmosphere in opening home match).

Make top 6.

Singing "who are ya" at Smeltzie* as he gets subbed by Gold Coast after yet another goalless performance (and walking past 'golden boot' Greenacre).

Average crowds of at least 12000
Make the sports news at least 3 times a week
Finish higher than any previous season

TBH right now all I want is to be walking struggling against the wind in a mass of YF going down the concourse.

1. Capture the imagination of a wider support base and make inroads into eggball culture in NZ
2. Give the AFC a headache by 'qualifying' for the Champions League
3. Prove beyond any doubt that the Phoenix should be in the A-League until the end of time

1. Big away win to create interest, then;
2. Fine weather on August 16th to attract bigger crowd, then;
3. Don't lose that match in an embarrassing fashion so big crowd comes back for the next game.

Repeat throughout season.

1. Consolidate our position
2. Get some decent crowds
3. Stave off going doing a Kingz / Knights

Partly - my concern is falling crowds due to economy - only 10,000 for a shield game was pathetic, can't just be the Rugby eas borning (I was there, and it was). Also the season ticket number has stuck again - 2008.

if we don't get bums on seats (again I have season tickets for 3rd year) we will fail

1.  Have average crowds of 12 000 (10 000 to break even so this would make Terry some money which will only encourage him in future with the Phoenix.
2.  To score many more goals than we concede.
3.  For Kevin Muscat, Seo, and Joel Griffiths to join the same team and play an away game at the RoF and all break their legs in 7-12 places.

Freaky, I was thinking the very same scenario and there you go and say it for me. Goal scored from a crunching header to win a home play-off preferably.

Also like to see Daniel beat six players on a mazy, dribbling run to score the winner against anyone. And I'd like Ricki to make wise and judicious substitutions that pay handsome dividends.
