New Flag Ideas

We've had the big yellow and black stripey flags for a few years now, and we've already ordered a couple of new flags to be made for us, but does anyone have any ideas of some new flags we could get made for the upcoming season?

Want to make the Fever Zone looks as awesome as it possibly can, and flags are a great way to do that!

Perhaps a black and yellow version of the Scottish flag (for Ernie)

I like this idea, there are two options.

Remember back when I first started the flags and banners thread - all the opposition there was to the idea of flags?

What is Gareth's preference? We should go with those 4, tell everyone it's rigged and then push for a 5th option that the entire world wants.

For my two cents I prefer flags to be born of some sort of symbolism.  Think maple leaf on Canadas flag, the number of stars and stripes on USA flag etc.  I don't get what all these triangles represent.......

I like the black and gold Scotland flags.

Someone should ask Richie McCheat for his preferences

Red triangle - a meeting house, the focal point of the people.

White triangle, the mountains of our land.

Black triange, the night sky above the mountains and meeting house.

Blue triangle, the dawn's sky above the mountains and meeting house.

Also, the left half of the red peak flag, black - white - red is symbolic of the tukutuku panels on the walls of the meeting house, which tell the story of the people.

The right half of the flag, the blue - white - red is a reference to the old flag, with the blue background and the red and white of one of the stars.

How much more symbolism do you want to pack into it?

I think the red triangle really respresent Brandon - He's on fire with his flags and the explanation is supurb! Top effort there Brandon. I guess John Key won't endorse it though?

I like this idea, there are two options.

St Davids flag here pretty much.  Might actually wind Ernie up, calling him Welsh n all!

Didn't realise the Welsh had a yellow and black flag they use as well as the dragon. Still that one is a cross compared to an X

My other club Plymouth Argyle did this:  I think banners in a similar vein would look pretty cool:

Would be cool to see Smeltz, Paston, Sigmund, Lia, Ifill, Greenacre, Dadi, Durante, Herbert etc imortalised like this

This is a bit obscure; people won't get the reference.

Better to have a flag with a picture of Ernie on it or text like "Ernie Merrick's Yellow Army"

I remember designing up a banner with a picture of Ernie on it with "Ernie Merrick's Yellow Army". Did it ever get made? Same size as the Yellow Fever one

I don't know, we have the Maori Tino rangatiratanga one done in Nix colours already, think with Scottish one next too it will be understood.
