Hello all, Greetings from Columbus, Ohio

Just word from a new A-league fan, wondering if I could bit of a lesson on the Team and if there was anywhere online where I could Catch games?

We get A-league Highlights here on Fox Soccer Channel but rarely a full games.  If there was a place to watch full games or team highlights online that'd be great. Over here MLS has an online package to watch full games and I was wondering if A-league has a similar thing.

A bit about myself, I'm a rabid fan of the Columbus Crew of the MLS and I'm interested in Wellington for several reasons. I've got family living in wellington, Duncan Oughton our NZ international is one of my favorite players, and the Black and Gold to boot.

Thanks for the time, I'm lookin' forward to hearing from ya.

We're currently coming last and playing crap, though the team apparently has a lot of potential...

You can watch most A-League games live here.

Well CU you could not have picked a better time to become a Phoenix fan.
We are bottom of the table of 8 teams, the rest are dirty Aussy teams that you will learn to hate, and although we've got a sound back 6, our front four aren't clicking at all well.

Why we find ourselves in this situation is open to debate, but no one will ever be able to accuse
you of being a glory hunter.

Tony Lochhead, our leftback, is the only player we have with MLS experience. (I think)

Unfortunately ESPN don't seem to play many of your games overhere but with the few I've seen
I've become a bit of a fan of The Crew.  The yellow and black certainly helped but your support has a good voice, I like your stadium and the size of your coach's stomach would do many a Phoenix fan proud.  Got to admit though I'm a bit of a Robbie Rogers fan, not that there's any wrong with your Kiwi.

I'll try and track down some internet streaming sites for ya later.

Well  last year we were 3rd from bottom and this year with essentially the same group of players we won the Supporters Shield (regular season title) and as a result are a top seed in the playoffs. So hopefully Phoenix can pull off something similar.

Yeah Rogers is fantastic, plus he's already tried europe and hated it so hopefully we can keep him around longer than most promising young MLSers.  Duncs is hilarious and while he's not a first teamer anymore the man is Crew to the Core.

As for Lochhead it does say he played for the Rev's up here I personally don't remember him but the Boston Club isn't exactly one of my favorites.  So just a couple of quick Q's since I'm basicly going for an A-league crash course...
1- is there a salary Cap and if so how much?
2-what was the soccer landscape like before A-league? (the impression I get from the small coverage we get up here is that A-league is very much like MLS about 5 years ago)

Yes almost AUS$2 million
There's a few details here:
http://soccerlens.com/australia-a-league-intro-part-1/6421/

It gets a bit tricky with guest, injury cover and marquee players and Frank Lowry, who owns Sydney FC and who basically runs Australian football, can bend the rules as he likes.  Or so it appears.

Ah okay, this isn't that bad really. Very MLS circa '02 with Designated Player mixed in.

Another quick Question, I've looked through the Gallery of the YF and was wondering if you've any videos of the group sorta like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rxc4aGZFz6U ?

Lochhead is our only former MLS player but Tim Brown played University football in the States and USL.
