What the hell? I just said that the away strip looks a little strange, which it does. Home kit is class.

Seems like people are angsting about perceived angst which isn't actually there to me

I think I'll grab one and get a name and number on the back (probably Daniel #11).

On a different subject - when was it announced Solo would replace Wellington Beds?

Solo is an A-League wide sponsor.

New home strip is great, unsure about the away one.

I hear that for the two upcoming games in China shirts will carry sponsers name for a Asian (Chinese???) business.

Feverish on TV3 - the voice of the people (or is that the peoples poet )

Love both strips.

The away reminds me a bit of the old Hungarians strip (the design, not the colours).
Oops, showing my age now.

Oh well, time to put my slippers on, sit in my rocking chair and sip my cocoa.

I am a bigger fan of the away kit than the home one, although I think that they both look great.

As a side note, I am still waiting for the YF exec to send me a V1 shirt as a thank you for all the hard work I did - maybe they can just send me the new away kit.

I have been staring at the new strip for the last twenty minutes without blinking.

The stripes are burned on my retinas.

That's real f**king commitment.

Yep - stripes are in this season.

Pity there's no more sponsors like Brown Ale or Holsten these days (but then again, maybe the Tui logo wouldn't be a good look)

Lets Compare.

For me, ours is definitely the best home kit.
The main aim was to set ourselves apart from the others, and to create a stronger identity for the club.
I think the club has been successful, and come up with a much more dynamic and interesting kit compared to what we had in the past.

In terms of the other teams, Melbourne looks the most professional. Little touches like the Chevrons down the sides show how much thought and effort went into these.
They've got the best away strip by far.

North QLD gets points for trying something different, and being a bit more creative. I guess they're lucky coming in now, and not having to deal with Reeboks "templates".

Perth isn't too bad either, at least they've given it a go. Not like the snore fest that is Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Mariners, Jets.

They look like amateurs compared to what the Phoenix, Victory and Fury have produced.
I'd be embarrased if I supported any of those clubs.Ultra Roma2009-07-08 10:04:35

The NQF one would be alright if the green was darker.

I definately agree that ours, Perths and Melb's is the best in the league. I think Melb's was better last year though. I think Adelaide's is pretty decent too - nice and simple.

Vertical stripes are quite slimming I believe.  That's good news for a lot of us!

I think that I would have preferred the away kit to have had the main stripe in black with the outlying black stripes in yellow...christ ive confused myself!!

At least they've made an effort, and tried to do something different.
I think they deserve a bit of credit for showing some ambition and creativity.

I don't know why Adelaide even bothered.  They should just tell the squad to bring a red T-shirt from home.

Yeah, pretty much but rather than the Hungary national team I actually meant Hungarians FC. Same shirt without the emblem.

Home is great, no problems with it at all.

As for the 'alternate' strip, well, who the hell came up with that?

The home kit is pure class.

I can not wait for the new club store to open so I can snap one up. It is going to be great to see them about town.

Can I eliminate the rubbish about FIFA rules saying that the black box has to be there? Fifa has no control over kit etc over and above what it says in the lLAWS OF THE GAME, unless it is a competition it is running. (Hence why it is mandetory in World Cup and WC qualifying matches)

It is down to the individual competiton to impliment such a rule. The first to do it was UEFA for the Champions League, UEFA Cup etc - which is the reason why Newcastle first started having a box. The Premier League has NO SUCH RULE! Hull City for example had no box, and many in the Championship dont either - the new Sheff Utd is one.

The black box therefore is either A League policy or a club decision. It, i repeat, is NOT a FIFA rule.
