Can I eliminate the rubbish about FIFA rules saying that the black box has to be there? Fifa has no control over kit etc over and above what it says in the lLAWS OF THE GAME, unless it is a competition it is running. (Hence why it is mandetory in World Cup and WC qualifying matches)

It is down to the individual competiton to impliment such a rule. The first to do it was UEFA for the Champions League, UEFA Cup etc - which is the reason why Newcastle first started having a box. The Premier League has NO SUCH RULE! Hull City for example had no box, and many in the Championship dont either - the new Sheff Utd is one.

The black box therefore is either A League policy or a club decision. It, i repeat, is NOT a FIFA rule.

Well, it is a FIFA rule, but as you rightly say, it only applies in competitions they run themselves. The same deal applies in UEFA competitions.

An astute observer will have noticed that Barca wear slightly different kits when playing in Champions League and La Liga for this precise reason - last season in CL they had a full blue back of the shirt, but in La Liga they had red and blue halves, the same as at the front of the shirt.

Agreed, it IS a FIFA and UEFA regulation that numbers on striped, hooped, checked and banded shirts should appear on a "patch" in their competitions but as has been pointed out, this has not been adopted by the EPL and looks like it might possibly be in the A League regs. May well be just a case of shirt manufacturers building this into their designs to save themselves hassle.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

If anyone moans about out strip they should check this out. I'd rather be in stripes than look like an employee of a Leisure Centre:

Something like this would of done imo

JUST IN BLACK WHITE AND YELLOW

That is an abomination, it should be burned and then buried.  I certainly wouldn't buy a shirt like that.

As for the stripes, I wasn't a fan of stripes, but the shirt has been well put together and looks good, from the front at least.  The away strip is ok.

The old strips were fine, but didn't really represent Wellington strongly enough.  The new home shirt will look much better in the stands.

In all honesty though, the squiggly line on that Slovenia kit has symbolic value as it represents the three-peaked mountain Triglav which dominates the Slovenia landscape (it's also depicted on their coat of arms and on the flag).

It does look stupid on a football shirt though.
