Nix 12 best ever

I don't know if it's because it's that time of year, Ifill's injury or just the steely bugger off and find something to do looks from the better half but feeling reflective so here's my Nix best ever list

Interested in others views. This is a positive thread, best ever only, no negative comments - thank you

1) Best ever moment: A tie for me between the first ever game (i.e. we actually have a professional football team) and beating Jets 3 - 1 to make the preliminary final in 09/10

2) Best league game result: Spanking Gold Coast 6 - 0. Smeltzy Smeltzy what's the score ?

3) Best ever player: Paul Ifill

4) Best ever NZ player: Marco Rojas

5) Best something out nothing signing: Honourable mention for Siggy and Riera (early days but promising) but the award goes to M Muscat

6) Best ever clubman: Tough call, our no cocks policy has served us well and there are / have been a number of outstanding candidates but my pick is Tim Brown. Honourable mentions for Iffy, Greenie, Dura and Siggy

7) Best ever goal: A few stunners, Elrich's in his first (?) Nix game and Dadi's bicycle come to mind but my pick is Smeltz's long range turn and fire bullet against (?)

8) Best ever save: Maybe just because it's fresh in my mind but Moss's save last week was pretty special

9) Best enduring chant: Oh Wellington - has stood the test of time

10) Best ever topical chant: You've got the wrong Aloisi

11) Best piece of kit: Last season's away strip

12) Best ever nearly best ever award: Vuko's oh so nearly goal

Agree with 3,4 & 8.

11) The first stripey (2009/10 - 10/11). Your first is always special.

13) Local hero: Leo or Kosta? Leo would be a clear favourite, but I'd go for Kosta as he has kicked on from the Nix (although not so much now).

Purely personal choices for me, I'm sure a few will disagree, but for me - 

7) Best ever goal: Tim Brown's lob from near the halfway circle vs Sydney FC

10) Best ever topical chant: "We've got the best summer in the league", January 2010 vs North Queensland, on a night when it was pissing with rain and balls-off f*ckin freezing.

Not being negative but dont agree with Marco as being our best Kiwi.Dont think he had reached that level until after he left sadly.Smeltz would have to go close especially with some of those goals he got in the early season.

Like you that first game was such a buzz,and hard to separatethat from both those finals game.Who would have thought we would sell out the stadium,

Best ever goal is the wind assist against Covic. The guy is an ass.

Honourable mention to the wind assisted assist for Greeny to slot past the NQF keeper (Pasfield?) in September 2010 (iirc).

Topical chant: where were you when we were shit ...... loved that 1.

Great thread for starters and a lot of interesting feedback. I'd also nominate Daniel for Club man (No. 6). He won a lot of kids and adults over with hisbehaviour on and off the pitch.

Daniel would have to push Browny for clubman...

can't have a best ever without Daniel in there somewhere...
