Centrebet have the Nix at 21:1 to win the 09/10 Championship.

I suspect those odds will shorten when we announce the signing of 2 very good strikers.

Wouldn't say they were "Long" odds, more along the lines of conservative

A bit stubborn of them I think. I can't believe they put Perth that far ahead of us

Its an Australian company, of cause they're going to have less betting on us and therefore higher odds.

For sure. If you want to back any kiwi side, do it in Aussie.

Speaking of 09/10, anyone know when the draw for the season comes out?

There is a draft out with the clubs and leaked to the press by Miron the Mouth.  The 4-4-2 item seemed to indicate we open at home for the first two games and the second is the Gold Coast.

I imagine it will be out in Early April.

Good times, some good cheap airfares going at the moment so the sooner I can book a Wellington trip or several the better. Might even think of hopping on one of the Aus trip bandwagons this season.

Agreed. Going to Sydney game with the few and the proud. 100 Nix fans and making more noise than 9000 bling fans, then beating them in the final minute, celebrating with the team after the game then heading to they Bling home pub get wrecked with their fans, brilliant stuff.

When we get our strikers, those odds may change. GCU has good odds simply because they have Smeltz and think they could do better ball service. But they also think that Fury has better net of players. They must be crazy to think that any new club will do well enough to win the league without established players and developed teamwork. It's not rugby league or netball which it's easier to do so.

I would imagine Glory's odds to improve. Just signed Sterjovski as marquee for 3 seasons.

      Burns     Shroj
Pellegrino    Sterj       Sikora
            Dadi/Jellic

Good mid+attack and chris coyne still a possibility, only real weakness are the fullbacks.

Playing with only six outfield players might hamper their chances though.

Fury have double the odds of us? So Fowler is going to be fit, then stay fit, and win the league by himself (with the occasional assist from Brockie)?

Surely 5.50:1 would be 11/2 in betting terms???
