Was thinking maybe the Paddington Bar - they have quite a bit of football on. One thing's for sure - forget the Kingslander - it was leaguey central on Sunday arvo, and there were a few punters there not too happy when the big screen was flipped to Sky sports 2. One guy even booed when the Phoenix equalised, and I dont think he was from Melbourne!

I went to the Cadrona Speights Ale house over the weekend and they were showing the Nix.

Nice pub, in Mt eden and close to trains etc.  Could be a goer?

Would be awesome to get a pub onboard who will show every game live!

I'm working in Auckland this week and my hotel does not have SS3, so I will be looking for somewhere to watch the game - preferably in the City. Keep this thread informed as to developments.

It would be quality if you could establish a critical mass of YF and a base in Akl - will provide a platform for launching northern raids for any future Phoenix or All Whites matches up there.

One of my friends and I are also thinking of finding a bar in town to watch the game friday night. I don't want to end up watching the game on some little TV with no volume, while the pubs big TV is on the NRL. So if anyone knows a pub in town that will definetly have the game, with volume, then please post a reply.

i think Cadrona will be showing the league tonite. i think there would be a good support base in auckland if we can get a pub confirmed. it'll be a bit easier to watch it at pubs after the league season

Excuse the ignorance, but where is that? In K Road? Or Anzac Road? I Googled Speakers Corner Auckland and got:

7 Anzac Rd
Browns Bay
Auckland

469 Karangahape Road,
Newton,
Auckland

Bugger. That's about 20kms away. Still, if I can't find anywhere else it remains an option. Thanks though.

Yeah thanks. Like SiNZ I'm still hoping to find a place in town (anywhere from the Viaduct up to K-Road) that will definetly be showing it.

Fox's Ale House will be showing the NRL in the front bar and The Phoenix in the back bar

They said that if it's not on, to ask for Alistair or Dan and they will change the channel.

Blast, the missus now has a shift at the hospital covering for someone whose called in sick, so I'm stuck with the kids.  Looks like the radio webstreaming for me.  Darn, was going to find out who the Arsenal brigade were at the Speakers Corner BB and have a Guiness.

Saved your self the hassle. 2 of us rang in the day, asked him if hes showing the nix game. He says definetly yes. We get there then some f**king Indians running the show and their putting on the rugby in an english bar. WHAT A f**kING LOAD OF sh*t. Dont like Speakers anymore

So you didn't get to see it Wolfben?

Fox's showed it, but they kept the music on so no commentary or crowd noise to help get in to the game. I can't complain though - at least I saw it. I did have to ask for the channel to be changed, but they were good to their word.

There weren't many of us there. For the first half, just 4 people were watching the game.  I'm sure one was the Team Wellington keeper, Dylan Hall - was going to say hello at half time and  offer to buy him a drink for being the TW keep but he left as soon as the half time whistle went.

In the second half there were 3 watching, but the other 2 were not there for the first so there was obviously some kind of shift system in place!

No we did, went back to a mates place and watched it.

My mate and I went into Fox's at about 9.30, and could tell by how loud the music was there was no way we would be getting any commentary or volume so decided to leave and go watch it at his house.

Did anyone have any luck finding a bar in Auckland that showed the game, with volume?
