Disagree - he shouldn't play.  If he wants to do something he should make a donation in his personal capacity elsewhere.  I think you're misreading this situation HN, you may know the family personally so you have a different view but for the majority of fans it is completely understandable that they don't want him to represent the club again if he is leaving

On the other hand what is the b'ball version of ACM?

At the moment it is not confirmed he is leaving and he is a Phoenix playerwho wants to take part in this.  Every reason he should.

The majority of fans don't seem to have any problem with his involvement.

It's a charity event Ffs. If he wants to be involved then good on him for joining in a good cause.

Allegedly

Not so sure about this. I for one, would not be happy if he was involved, but still don't support anyone taking out their angst on this particular occassion.

Hear hear
The situation in Chch transends any feelings of injustice  that we may  feel towards Marco Rojas,a fund raising basket ball game  is not the time or the place to criticise, lets show some dignity.
Next season when he walks into the ROF now thats a different story !!

I will be driving up from town for this.
Hoping to buy tickets on the door.

PM or text me if you want a lift.

I'd appreciate a small contribution to petrol $ (less than your train fare would be though!)

There's a chance it will sell out, it's being very heavily promoted. Tickets are form ticketek if you don't want to risk it.

Edit: And I haven't been there myself, but I don't think the Porirua indoor stadium (or whatever it's called) is very bigShowUsYaNix2011-03-02 20:32:26

Thats in jest... This is a good cause and these Rojas jokes should seriously stop, its for the good of the people in Christchurch BTW

higlight of the night would be Marco doing a slam dunk. And good on him for taking part. There is a compassionate side and we should all be happy he's doing something about helping the people in CHCH. Well done.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

I am so pumped for this. They won't be used to actually being able to hold the ball with their hands, and it'll be hilarious.

Vukovich, not so much. Crowther, definitely.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.
