To lighten the mood a bit around here, the Nix, Canes, and Saints will be playing a Bball match at Te Raupraha arena on Thursday night to raise funds for Christchurch. Tickets are $20 and will be available at www.ticketdirect.co.nz Apparently the Pulse will be the cheer girls.

THIS. While I personally feel he doesn't deserve to represent the Phoenix at this event given the manner of his departure... it's a charity fundraiser for a damn good cause, in the shadow of one of the darkest days this nation has seen. Hopefully no f**kwits will spoil the event with misplaced negativity. Save it for his first match in opposition colours.

I would have thought, in the circumstances, it would be better for everyone if he was 'advised' not to be there.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

"I would like to go to Te Rauparaha for the charity game but I have been advised not to," he said. "I have been told there will be 2,000 people there just waiting to give me a slap, so I will stay in Hamilton" .

He's still here and wants to do something for Christchurch.  Just hope that rampant f**kwittery doesn't expose itself.

..and I suppose the stupid tweets he's alleged to have been sent are called f*cktwittery
and the senders f*cktwits?
Charming.
Agree though, lets keep it in perspective, a thoroughly worthy cause doesn't need to be hijacked or detracted from in any way.

This game now has added Firebirds. What they have added I am not entirely sure but I got an email about it.

Apparently they (the Firebirds) are playing a supporting role on the sidelines alongside the Pulse.

Ifill now playing as well.  Apparently he rang and asked to be added to the squad.  Maybe a winter deal with the Saints to supplement his income?

I think we should make "Please Stay Marco" banners.

Show him how much we'll miss him.

or "Melbourne won't love you like we do"

Not really the time though is it?

All the focus should be on the charity etc. In my opinion.

Fixed.

Seriously though, leave the Marco angst at home for this one, some things are more important. This one, in particular, is a hell of a lot more important.
