Rise of the Phoenix gives crowds a boost
 
Wellington Phoenix, created just four months before the start of the new season, have the turnstiles clicking at Westpac Stadium. Crowds are up a whopping 289 per cent compared with those of the now-defunct New Zealand Knights - proving that professional football does have a future across the Tasman, and New Zealand's capital city is a much better location than Auckland.

Good news aint it Midfielder, noticed the whole article is available elsewhere on the site. The level of enthusiasm for the 'Nix is just great, hopefully we will continue to get similar support for the remainder of the season.  I'm rapt that we have at last got a football club worth supporting, it's been a long time between drinks.   Thanks for posting.

Despite what some may think (John Banks included), Wellington is still the capital.
