Ah, I always count the minutes between when a scary news story goes online and scribbler/zonknz/whoever posts it here to angst.

Does this one count as positive:http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/4814089/Confident-Terry-Serepisos-points-finger-back the answer is NO - if terry is still thinking WGA cash will arrive :(Given he says he has two other plans, this is a media strategy. Nothing to be gained for Terry by saying WGA are frauds now I guess.

Hmmm if that is him being positive about the situation...

I thought the nix lost him about $1m a year not the $5m being reported here??

Seems to be bitter with NZF at the mo. Are they plotting against him I wonder?

Doubt it. Seemed Frank Van Hattum was indicating that Terry is on his own from this point and hinting that at least one party may be interested, should Terry go belly up and the CC companies go under.
Tricky situation.
One could argue NZF have to stand back from this, if Terry can survive with his own resources great, if not then then a new party could step in with a clean slate and have a crack.
If NZF fund Terry any more there'd be a huge uproar, and they could well be just prolonging the inevitable, and sending good money after bad.
On the other hand, by helping Terry and the Nix financially again to prop them up, they are maintaining a football club that has raised the interest and profile of football on many levels in NZ.
What to do?

The article says Terry spends $5m a year, not that he loses that much - maybe he gets $4m back.

Did anyone else think that the photo of Terry in the Star Times this morning made it look like someone had smacked him in the eye? Or did he get  a bit close to  Nippleface and get poked with a protruberant facial feature?

Took it to mean that the nix's annual expenditure is $5m, so loss is $5m minus revenue- which we don't know what that is.

Not so sure the position is inconsistent as the article tried to spin.

NZF will bankroll/prop up Nix in short term, but are not interested in owning it long term. That seems to have been the case all along.

Simon Plumb is a horrible troll and always has been. His agenda is to stir up as much drama as he can (as opposed to Nipple's "get Terry" agenda).

New initiative  - I wonder if terry has thought of writing the Nix money off as a charitable donation? Maybe worth a look! ;)

To get one third back as a tax rebate on donations, you mean? But the Nix aren't a registered charity.

Probably wouldn't be a problem to register some of the players we've had at certain points as a charity.....get a third of their wages back,it's a start.Tegal2011-03-28 17:07:18

I'm not too worried anymore, if Terry can afford to be drinking in town on a Saturday night/ Sunday Morning he must not be in too bad of a position.

Because the value of drinks in town add up to $3m?

I think if I was in Terry's situation, I might just be tempted to go out and sink a few on a Saturday night.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I chuckled when I saw this:

Looks like we aren't the only club in the world who are having problems paying tax!
