I was trawling thru the A League website, trying to nail down exactly how the finals system works (still not quite sure) but got distracted by the player stats lists. We've only got one player leading a stat race - Paul Ifill equal 1st for off sides (not with Greenie either).
We're only also rans in the others, but here are our leaders...
Goal assists: Marco 7 (in how many games?), 2nd Timmy with 4
Attempts on Target: Ifill 28, 2nd Greenie 26
Keeper Saves: Vuko 55, Pasty 37 (Galekovic has over a hundred)
Attempts Off Target: Ifill 40, 2nd DMac 21
Fouls conceded: Vinnie 49, 2nd = Manny and Timmy 46 each

now, to try and find the finals format

If Dmac had 21 attempts off target, did he only have 5 on target?
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Interesting that you [Oi Oi] mention that Ifill is the most offside player when the commentators monotonously reel off the stat that it is "Greenacre's ribbon" every time someone from the Nix gets caught on the wrong side.

Re: the playoffs, I've got a book somewhere that details the play-off system for Brazil, slightly more complex than ours as it hits game Y and seems to last a whole seasoncapes2011-02-13 13:27:45

I'm slightly disappointed!

Some more interesting stats.

2nd half of the season we have gotten 26 points, 3rd best for that period (Bris 33, CCM 32). We had the 2nd best home record with 33 points (Bris 35) and the 3rd worst away with 8 points (NQF 7, Perth 7). Vs the top half we come in 2nd 18 points (Bris 23) and vs bottom half we are sixth with 23 points (CCM 35,ADL 34).

If anything is wrong I am getting my data from SINZ's A League spreadsheet

So we did well in the 'hard' games, but nowhere near as well in the 'easy' games? If we had of won more of the 'easy' games then we would have been a real chance at a home playoff.
