Last season I was asked where I got my inflatable yellow and black hooped hand from. I bought it at the stadium at a Hurricanes game for $5. I'm not sure they'll be available for the Wellington NPC games.

If you want one or two, the Hurricane's last home game is this Friday night - at this stage, so get in and get a hand. Or give a friend attending the dosh to get them.

It might pay to grab a couple in case the hand developes a leak so to speak.

They are perfect Nix colours, only missing a logo. Ideal for dishing out the ol "Who are ya?" when the opposition get a corner down in front of the Fever Zone.

Football_mum once again proves she has style and fully deserves her status within the ranks of the YF.  She has said all that needs saying on this topic.  Mods, lock it down!

my 2 cents.  i think the inflatable hands are cool. imagine if you will 400 nix fans in the zone with these chanting "Who are ya" and pointing the giant inflatable fingers at El**ch on his return to the ring of fire.

You may want to sit next to lonegunman then, may I suggest aisle 3?

I say tha large inflatable hands are not good and I'm a troll.

Maybe there is a place for inflatable hands at the stadium.  Aisle 3 was my initial suggestion.  Maybe we could fix song sheets and netball bangers to the seats as well.  This way some supporters can entertain themselves while the rest watch the match.

Just an idea.

They seem to be catching on with fans in Australia. Sorry to have suggested something positive to be shot down yet again. Lonegunmen2008-05-08 21:01:35

Netball fans ?  No self respecting supporter group is going to advocate that.  As someone said it's up there with plastic horns and netball clappers.

LG, you're the man who consistently bleats on about how poor the atmosphere is at the rugby (and continues to attend) compared to the Phoenix, why on earth then would you want to take one of the crap gimmicks employed by the NZRU to try and generate fun and bring it to the footy.  Ive said it before, you cant script a good atmosphere at the football, it depends on so many things individual to that day; who your team is playing, individual moments of brilliance or stupidity, heros on your team, villains on the other, good tackles, bad tackles, scoreline.

Oversized hands whether inflatable or foam, big foam cowboy hats, cheerleader and TV time outs are inventions of the American sporting bodies, they want their sport to be entertainment, mainly because as a live spectacle their sports are sh*t.  Football (God bless it) is still a sport, and will continue to be so as long as we can stay away from inflatable hands.

If you want to wear oversized novelty items knock yourself out.  Me?  Id prefer not to be a fat handed twat!  (please see the link for explanation).  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQyxGTjZi2I

Oddly enough DLB, those same "hands are seen at Old Trafford too and at a few other premiership games I've seen.

I think the way you keep having shots at me, I must have put you photo on here! Come to think of it, I think I only put three photos up. To me that says that there were only three incidents. Pretty good considering the numbers attending the games and I made it to 10 of them. ur fans are awesome.

Now I remember the trend for large inflatable objects being taken to games in the 90's....

Regarding photo's:  That's three more than anyone else.......
