Interesting looking round the field when some of these guys have the ball to see their passing options - you will probably be surprised to see very few options apart from long punts on a lot of occasions.

Not saying McKain doesn't provide some bad passes - I do like that he is happy to kick of both feet as opposed to many others that lose time / allow attackers to close them down while they have to get it onto their only kicking foot. Recall Lockhead taking so long to position himself onto his left foot the attacker closed him down - got a good deflection that went to Fowler for his best chance that required a good save from Reddy.

To Lochhead's credit at one point there was a player in front of him in the box and he slid in superbly to knock the ball away and out for a corner.  That was a top challenge.

No way - Reddy for me. He gives me more confidence than Paston, and than Moss used to. Very strong in the air and good shot-stopper. Plus, he always looks angry, like he's gonna punch out the defender who f**ks up, unlike Paston who just kooks scared.

be interesting to compare our polls on here with the text poll for MoM
mate I think that people vote for their favourite players irrespective of whether they had a good game or not...you only have to look at voting week by week

Re McKain. Not talking about the long punt when there are no options. Last night, and in last week's game, on loads of occasions he wasn't even looking for an option. Just hoofed it. As I said, I think he's a decent player, just needs a bit of work on his distribution

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

It's known as "The Bertos Factor", I believe.

Heard a rumour that Lochhead was playing under painkillers due to injury.  If this is so, then haters condemning him for not facing competition can go **** themselves.

Reddy's distribution was shocking and caused unnecessary trouble.  Can't wait for Paston (or Moss!) to come back.

Interesting to see Ricki employing the revolutionary tactic of putting midget McKain close to the goal (in the place of Dadi) instead of his usual position outside of the box.  Shocked that this paid off - who would've thought that a man who stands just 186cm could pose a threat in the air?

Best performers were Bertos and Durante.

If hes that sore that he cant 'face up' then he definetly shouldnt be on the park as part of a back 4.

Or watching the game on more than a surface level, work off the ball, breaking down plays, tracking covering, getting into supporting positions, turning over almost no ball (although being one of the main ones guilty of slowing us down in the transition, 1st half especially)
You are correct. But yeah, nothing overly special for MOM for me,maybe if he'd been more quick on counter attacks he'd have got there.

Was a pretty close MoM with no one standing out,as has been shown by the spread of votes (random Reddy votes excluded)

some of Reddy's later votes are probably down to the fact  that he picked up most of the first 10 or so votes - then a sheep thing seems to kick in with polls like this

edit- not a criticism of reddy - who gives me a lot of confidence as a shot stopper and a communicator
Yeah good point,i wasnt saying those who voted for him were wrong and that he didnt deserve it,it was more that he was more than a dozen ahead of the rest of the pack at that stage.

It's not making excuses.  He shouldn't have been asked to play while injured, but that's the manager's decision.  So, if you want to slate someone, get out the Sack Ricki signs.

Im sure hes grown up enough to tell the boss that hes too injured to play today. If he takes the field theres no backing down...if you're going to do that, let the manager know.
Im sure if Lochead had said "im not going to do anything today and am going to play like rubbish if you play me" then ricki wouldnt have played him.

On the other hand he may have just said "so whats new there? You're playing"

Tegal, in case you weren't watching, Lochy actually did contribute.  It wasn't a brilliant performance, but you could say the same of most of the team.

If you thought Bertos was our best player looks like you might not have been watching either?

Lochhead had an average game but he shone to the fore with that very telling and goal saving tackle. That kept the team in contention. So yes it was worth him being out there. No need for pain killers, that Southerly would have numbed the players after 5 minutes.

Shows Lochheads commitment to the teamnif he said yes to playing whilst injured. he knows the score! I'm sure our squad has the best team moral of all the teams. Just by the way they interact at practices, you can see the spirit.

the reality, at most places on the field we have good options - sadly we do not have anyone that can give us the same confidence at left back hence why Lockhead does not have many games out ... be great to see someone else in the squad who could put some pressure on that position...not Daniel, nor Mulligan !!

[QUOTE=ChopperHarris]

Lockhead's game was so poor, Siggy should have been on.....Now I know WHY he was below average...... Hope this does not spread through the team....if you are injured to Lockheads degree you shouldn't be on the pitch...we got away with this week...understand if we had no cover but we have.....did the coach know of this before the game and during ????..........

 ps.... get well quick Tony
