They were probably trying to get away from that stupid f**king music that the stadium t**sers play straight after the final whistle

a hangover from other sports where there's no atmosphere and the stadium/promoters try to *create* some

would have loved to have chanted them off - but hey the concourse was pumping with chants and that was the place to be after the players had left (i think the players acknowledged us just fine)

Thats a bit harsh, they started at the halfway line and made their way down the ground applauding the crowd. What do you expect them to do, parade around all the empty seats?

I forgot about the empty seats but the fans over the broadcasting end, did they get any acknowledgment?

Muppet moment #1 for me was seeing a couple of wags with their kids (ifill's missus was one of em, duno who the other one was) come down to go on the pitch and celebrate with the team, dopey security guy wouldnt let them, said they have to ask his boss. They were not happy, by the time the boss ambled his fat ass down there the players had gone down the tunnel... security ftw

Oh that's very poor!

Remember the 2010 play-offs with Jnr Dadi and other mini Nix (I think Romy too) running around the pitch?

Marvellous!

Just recently back from a great day out at Air Force 75th Anniversary Air show Ohakea.
Numbers being thrown around were 70K+ for the event...

Had to get up @ 6am so to avoid the massive traffic for this event, which wasn't easy after  celebrating long into the night with the Nix victory.

Go Heart - Smeltz an't going to score any goals tomorrow, he used them all up last week!

Phoenix stay just a little bit longer
We want to play just a little bit longer
Now the FFA don't mind
And the Welnix don't mind
If we take on Melbourne Heart
And we leave them all behind and play
One more game
Oh want you stay just a little bit longer
Please, please, please
Say you will, say you will

AGREED!!!!
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Funny moment of Friday night, passing a "tired and emotional" Pavlovich on Courtnay Place at about 1:30am - who yelled "Phoenix" at me and give me a high five!

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

"Reddy will face a club disciplinary hearing tomorrow that will hear reports he was drinking alone in the Qantas Lounge before the flight on Wednesday, before consuming vodka on the flight.

Having vomited as the plane descended, partly on a team-mate, he threw up again on the bus from the airport to the team hotel in Wellington.

On Thursday morning, he was told to catch a cab and return to the airport, but instead joined the Phoenix players before flying back to Sydney."

Last couple of seasons Reddy has been rubbish. The only time in the last 6 years that he has been great was when he played for us.He got dropped from the Roar as well.

Just got back from Welly in time for seond half of PerthvHeart.

Great Weekend. Chiiling out with my bro and mates, superb Wellington weather (it's true), and oh yes...a f**king amazing game of football in the midst of the Fever Zone.

Really it's the only way to watch football (not via interweb as per watching Shane Smeltz's Glory).

I'll be back...

Should be for Siggie and Leo- amazing delivery...

Need to sign someone who can take over goal scoring duties from Tim Brown though...he's been a handy goal poacher...have to agree- think he should keep going and leave no regrets...could see him scoring a goal as a sub to get us out of group in 2014...

"Rousing night for PhoenixA goal glut brought a dramatic end to the Phoenix's playoff win over Sydney FC. The crowds may not be huge at Westpac Stadium but they sure know how to let themselves go and make a noise. The support for the Phoenix on Friday night was amazing."

Probably something to do with the vast majority of the Fever being half cut (I, of course, include myself in that accusation!).

Number of times we had two songs on the go was unbelieveable

I wondered if maybe it was your goal keeper coach that may have made the difference with Reddy?

Cheers, memory's a bit sh*t.
He left to go up north (North Island) didn't he? I thought he left on personal grounds at the time.

Yeah he left the Phoenix to move back to his home in Hawkes Bay to spend more time with his family. A few weeks later he took up an offer to move to Perth.

Tell you what, nothing would make me happier this Saturday than to humble both judas's. (Smeltz and Gould).  Not so much Vukovic as he was signed to Perth prior to coming to us as a stop gap.

Megan Mutrie's story from The Crowd Goes Wild last night:

Keep an eye out at 1:02 where Manny kicks the advertising sign and breaks it in half. I saw this happen during the celebrations on Friday but wasn't sure what happened. Great stuff.patrick4782012-04-03 13:33:28

George, it is 3 years since Smeltz played for us. You sound like the Arsenal supporters.
