Dunno about you but we need 3 points here.

Paston

Muscat Siggy Dura Lochhead

Smith Lia Daniel (or Ward)

Sanchez Ifill (if fit?)

Greenacre

Since we cant seem to get points away from ome then definitely need 3 at home on wednesday.

agree - no room for Brown or Bertos and maybe time for Paston to have a run.

They were wrong, he is only on 3. The 2 yellows when he was sent off against the Jet's don't count towards it.

Assuming Ifill is still out here is what I'd like to see:

                   Warner/Paston (either or, I don't care who)

Lia              Siggy            Durante           Lochhead

                           Manny

       Ward           Brown           Daniel

                          Sanchez

                          Greeny

I'd like to see Lia have another crack at RB as I don't think the experiment the other week was a complete disaster and we look really good when Manny is DM. Time for Leo to have a rest. OK maybe Brown isn't in the best form of his career but as long as the boy is wearing yellow and black I'm right behind him.

But here is what I think Ricki will play:

                             Warner

Manny            Siggy        Durante        Lochhead

Bertos            Lia            Brown           Daniel

                             Sanchez

                             Greeny

Shape might be slightly different but the guts of it will be the same.

Must win, 6 pointer, season defining, need a big crowd, players need to step up, PAX?, someone start an anti-jinx, coach needs to be bold, 4-4-2 instead of 4-4-1-1, marvelous!

COME ON PHOENIX!!! 2-0

3pm? On a Wednesday?

What reasoning went behind this scheduling?

Three for me, and two for them.

Ifill didnt pull any punches in that article,  hope Tim Brown read what he said. Be good to have him back if only for part of the match. He must start Ricki, hear me, start him !! hepatitis2012-01-02 11:49:40

Kids free for this one ... three under-16's with each paying adult. Many people are still on holiday, forecast is good, kick-off is at a family-friendly time ... hopefully a crowd of 7K+

Are you sure it's under-16's? Usually with those free tickets it's only for under-12's.

Yeah, only buses and only one an hour.....

i did email them a few weeks ago to 'remind' them to consider the Nix game but I got no response

Totally ridiculous. It's going to be chaos after the game when everyone needs to get home and there will only be 1 bus per hour. Tranz Metro really do fail to think sometimes.

From the A-league.com.au preview:

"Ricki Herbert will be hoping that talisman Paul Ifill and American utility Alex Smith will recover in time to take their places after the pair missed the trip to Adelaide through injury."

So Smith was injured?

my team

     Paston
Lia  Siggy Dura  Locky

    Muscat Smith
Leo/Ward   Sanchez   Daniel
            Ifill

what Rickie will select

                  Weiner
Muscat    Siggy   Dura    Locky
        Brown     Lia
Leo       Sanchez     Ifill
          Greenacre

I have just been down into the centre of Wellington.....its like a ghost town, empty streets closed shops. I'm not sure how many people are coming home to go back to work tomorrow but a 3pm kickoff looks like a recipe for a tiny tiny crowd....3000 to 4000, if we are lucky

From the official match preview

"The Phoenix will be without midfielder Tim Brown who is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against the Reds."

is this true or is he technically only on 3 yellows because of the two he got in round two?

apparently there are 'extra buses' because of the Nix but still on the reduced (once an hour) timetable
