Disappointing performance and result in the weekend, but it is a new week, and that means another Phoenix game - at home to boot. Let's start building up for the game against Noocastle now, by talking it up and getting everyone interested. We want 20,000 this weekend, and that will only happen if we all make an effort.

Let's also make Friday "Phoenix Day", with everyone wearing their Retro Ricki's, Phoenix my pints..., or replica shirts to work.

Sounds good - Try and bring at least one person that hasn't been to a game before. And encourage people who have and enjoyed it to get season tickets!

anyone have any idea how many we have sold this far?

Season tickets have hit the 2000 mark as of this morning as far as i know. And about 700 tickets have presold.

after the weekend game I spoke to at least 10 people that didnt make it to the first game at the ring of fire, but were gagg'in for the game on the 9th, let alone the bb first!!!

I'm already starting to go mental in anticiaption of the match. I've taken to wearing those wrist bands that came with the season tickets, at work and stare hard at people who look at me funny when they notice them on my wrist.

I find my pulse start to race when I think of Felipe. I'm thinking that is the name I'll have on my back should the get round to putting them on the shirts. I thinking of buying 6 more fever/retro t-shirts one for each day. Or buying more offical kit just so the club has more money.

Our house need repainting and the only colours I see are Phoenix colours. With a big rampant Phoenix on our front door.

I found myself chanting "who are ya?" at our cat this afternoon, (complete with finger pointing).

A guy at work said "So the Phoenix got thrashed then?" I replied "not really there was a lot of positives" He said "still a thrashing though". I began to imagine what his head would look like on a spike. I said "so you are a wellington boy ain't you?" "yes" he replied.

"THEN SUPPORT YOUR f**$#*@ TEAM THEN -WELLINGTON PHOENIX!!!"

We are bringing the father in law along so it should be good. We are at home and I can't wait.

fortean's post reminded me of the strange looks i get when I sing "we love you Phoenix we do" etc at work

how can you not sing when it's the football season?

after hounding my workmates since day one ....(Even got a Phoenix wall...posters/flyers etc)...Ive got at least 5 newbees coming along. and thats just work.....

There sure is a buzz about town. I reckon 20,000 is possible. Tell everyone to tell everyone to tell everyone. Love the Phoenix Friday idea. And, the bonus about sh*tty cold weather is that we can ALL legitimately wear our gorgeous Nix scarves to work. Hoorah!

I'm going farken mental waiting for it. Can't sleep. I say lets get at least 20,000 along to the backbencher before the game and really get the atmosphere pumping. Maybe getting a big group out in town on Saturday day or night and pumping it up there may also help get a few more bods along. Electric Avenue as in middle of town?

I'm just glad the Ultimate nats in Palmy finish ealry enough so a bunch of us can get back to Wellington for the game on Sunday, there was talk of some multiple injury faking :-)

How about getting some virgin rugby supporters aboard, particularly given the organised chant and party atmosphere. By the time the rugby sevens get here next year, the Phoenix will be the talk of the country.
