Am very relieved and quite satisfied with that point.  Just hope the injuries aren't too serious.

An away draw,  and promising play for a good percentage of the match.  Well done boys.  Happy with that

Sheesh, you whingers. An away point would have been JUST FINE if offered before the game. Some people were talking like we were going to be walloped 4-0 by everyone, but we've proved that we are still a fine fighting team even short a striker or two.

But yeah, Sack Tim Brown.

Quite happy with our first team

With sanchez etc

Shame about the injuries... thought lia was doing the defensive mid job very well

Could be a decent season

Good point... considering 14 hour travel etc...

Ah, good to see things have changed this season and we can win away, hold onto leads, close out games...oh wait...

Still, with the injuries and what not, a point will do.

I also put $2.50 on the scorecast of Greenacre to score first, result 1-1 at 36/1 so can't be too displeased...

Hmmm happy with the point in the end.

We lost our compusure there at times, kicked it away. Make that a lot.

MOM for me, Manny, thank you for not going to play for Malta this weekend

Physio, get to work  !!

Didn't lose but we had no idea how to keep ball that second half, and we look lightweight after Ifill and Sanchez went off, not enough good depth of squad at the moment.

To conceed a goal so late is poor especially with the decision making at the end. There is no point in hoofing the ball forward to no one as the opposition just comes straight back at you.

Try stringing a few passes and make the opposition press and then look to play it long or out as there may be opportunities to keep possession or even do something with it.

Ricki should have learnt this by now as it happens all too often to us.

Brown got off to a good start but faded badly. Muscat was immense as usual and Lia I thought did well, but we still lack something in the middle to be really competative and a striker to help out Greenie.

Could have been a lot worse, GCU looked like they might have scored many more than the one they got.

It doesnt work that way though, when youre up 1-0 into the final minutes and let some ponce waltz right through your midfield its veeeery hard to not be annoyed. like i said before, when its that late in the game someone shouldve just grabbed his shirt or pushed him over, take a yellow, and take 3 points.

only momentarily for me.

great to see football I care about again, in the midst of the R** which I have liked more than I thought.

Would have totally taken this at the start, and even though I thought we were going to lose after they scored, was pleased to see us still fighting for the win.

sooo happy to have the season underway, and a good (and possibly great) early result.

This for me.

Would have been more than happy with a draw before the game. But as the game went on became hopefull we could hang on.Sadly a problem we have had for some time is back with us again it seems. That is the easy way some of our guys just give possession up.

As for whinging you bet its called being a fan. Then again some people are to easily prepared to accept mediocrity.

Happier with the result by the second :) Not pleased with how we threw away what should've been our points, but a draw away from home isn't a bad first up result by any means.

I too am just glad the season's underway again!

Somehow the belief that we could win the game snuck into my mind, and therefore I was disappointed that we ended up drawing. If the goals had been the other way around I would be over the moon, but they wern't.

All in all, happy with a point. At least we are ahead of the Tards and Bling on the table.

Considering how many times they were pounding away at the goal it's difficult to see why they should have been our points. We lost three players through injuries and were being hammered all over the place.

A point is a very good result.

Two weeks ago I was worried what form the team I love was going to take this year, if any at all.

Now I'm agonizing about a last minute equalizer away from home.

It's great to have the Nix back

I reckon we played very well with sanchez and lia on the pitch... Uncertain on Ifill tho

Daniles flair got a laugh from me... and won a throw:p

Well they only got a late equaliser, I thought we could've held on to get the full 3 points.

Ifill was looking the goods until he and his groin had a falling out.

Before the game I would have been happy with a draw, but conceding such a late goal make it feel more like a loss.

When we took Vinnie off, we should have moved Manny into the midfield. But saying that, he did that in last season opener and that didn't work too well then.

Must remember to not be holding anything during future Phoenix away games, launched the remote and only just missed the screen. Bit like some of passing when you think about it.
Not sure why your looking junior, you mean to say your not disappointed we gave up a late equaliser.

After the 14 hour flight and all the injuries i'll definitely take a point there.

Happy with a point away to start our season off but very, very concerned with the injuries suffered - especially Ifill's after all the hype of him having a good pre-season and being as fit as he ever has been.

Greenie, Mannie and Paston were all brilliant. Brown invisible like usual and left huge spaces in midfield for the likes of the other Brown to run through - Lia didn't help one iota when he was on either.

Sanchez showed promise until he tired and got injured and thought that Ward showed some surprising defensive ability towards the end there.

Daniel is seemingly a waste of space and Leo seems to be slowly joining him in that basket. Worked hard but really expect more - from Leo especially. Missed the tackle on Brown before he shot too.

Dura and Siggy were their usual selves - defended very well, Dura with some sly blocking and Siggy was Siggy.

Lochy played pretty well I thought too - put in a few very good crosses.

MoM for mine all up was Manny. That guy is an absolute machine. (except for his Ferrante-esque shot haha)

Don't think anyone needs to get too angsty over this result. It's tough to draw in that way but I'd rather draw to a screamer than a bad defensive error.
